RMU finishes with a 9-8 overall record, third straight winning season

Smithfield, R.I. - The season came to a close for Robert Morris University women's lacrosse with a 17-7 loss to Wagner in the Northeast Conference semifinals on Friday night on the campus of Bryant University.

Senior Jessica Karwacki scored three goals in the final game of her stellar collegiate career to finish with 78 career goals and 104 points. Junior Katie Breeze score a pair of man up goals while senior Emily Jamison and sophomore Dana Davis each netted one goal, Davis' coming in a man down situation.

Wagner opened the scoring with the first of Tori McGrath's five goals before Karwacki answered with her first of the game. McGrath responded and once again, so did Karwacki, scoring her 30th goal of the season. Breeze gave the Colonials a 3-2 lead with a man up goal at 16:28 of the first. Shea Gegan tied the game with the first of her three goals and began a four-goal stretch by the Seahawks that gave Wagner a 6-3 halftime lead.

Gegan and Breeze traded man up goals early in the second half before Wagner tossed home seven consecutive goals to take a 14-4 lead. The Colonials were able to score three of the next four goals but not enough to come back for the win.
