Buffalo, NY - After winning the opening game of the weekend 4-3, Robert Morris comes away from the weekend with a split, falling 4-1 to Canisius on Saturday night at the HarborCenter.

Canisius grabbed the lead 6:14 into the game on an even-strength goal by Griffins top line forward Dylan McLaughlin, assisted by David Parrottino and Ryan Schmelzer.

Robert Morris quickly came back 27 seconds later with junior forward Michael Louria scoring his second goal of the weekend and second in an RMU sweater, to knot the game 1-1. Sophomore forward Matthew Graham and senior defenseman Robert Powers earned assists on the tally.

Less than three minutes later, Canisius regained the lead with a power play goal by Nick Hutchison and would never surrender it. Hutchison added a second power play goal in the second period to extend the Griffins' advantage to 3-1. Mike Sabatini pushed the advantage to 4-1 while the Griffs had an extra attacker for a delayed penalty.

Robert Morris went 0-7 on the power play after scoring four power play goals in the opening two games of the season and the Colonials penalty kill was 5-for-7. Canisius held the advantage in shots on goal 31-24, while RMU won 34 faceoffs to the Griffins' 30.

Senior Andrew Pikul made his first start of the season in goal and made 27 saves. Freshman forward Nick Prkusic made his NCAA debut.
