Mount Pleasant, Mich. – The Robert Morris University women's soccer team fell to Central Michigan University, 4-0, this afternoon from the CMU Soccer Complex.
Sophomore midfielder Kristina Kelley generated two shots for Robert Morris (0-3-0, 0-0-0 NEC) in the loss.
Central Michigan (1-1-1, 0-0-0 MAC) opened the scoring in the sixth minute as Shannon Magnan connected with Mary Carlson on a corner kick. In the 21st minute, Madison Costner swung in a cross from the right wing to Lexi Pelafas, where the forward headed it home. Pelafas then added her second goal of the contest in the 42nd minute with another header.
CMU's fourth goal came in the 84th minute courtesy of Devyn Brough.
Freshman Sydney Bruckner and sophomore Julia Schmid split time at goalkeeper for the Colonials. Both players made a pair of saves in their 45 minutes of action.
Robert Morris returns home to host UMBC on Sunday, Aug. 27 at noon as a part of a doubleheader with the men's soccer team.
