Wagner Runs Past Robert Morris In Season Finale

Moon Township, Pa. – Running back Ryan Fulse rushed for 303 yards as the Wagner Seahawks rolled past the Robert Morris University football team, 41-7, at Joe Walton Stadium Saturday afternoon. The Colonials finish the year with a 2-9 overall record and 0-6 in Northeast Conference play. The Seahawks improve to 4-7 overall and 3-3 in league games.

Robert Morris senior linebacker Adam Wollet collected 15 tackles in his final game, giving him 314 in his career. That total puts him third all-time at RMU. Wollet finished the year with 111 stops, a season-best for him, and a number that ranks fifth all-time in team annals. In addition to Wollet's notable career mark, Adam Check became the team's all-time leading punter, booting the ball 261 times for 9,721 yards, both RMU career records.

Fulse carried 34 times and scored a trio of touchdowns, averaging 8.9 yards per carry. Wagner quarterback T.J. Linta was 15-of-21 passing for 277 yards and a score. RMU quarterback Jimmy Walker was 10-of-22 for 129 yards and a touchdown. Terence Stephens Jr. carried the ball 23 times for 40 yards. Wideout Dorian Bowie hauled in a season-high four passes for 61 yards while Matthew Gonzalez added to his RMU record with his 12th touchdown reception of the season. It was also the 22nd passing score for RMU this season, tying the team's single season high-water mark.

Wagner opened the scoring on its first possession of the game on a 15-yard scamper by Fulse. An interception by Myles Canton at the Wagner 46 set up the Colonials only score of the day. Walker completed a 40-yard pass to Bowie and then hit Gonzalez on a slant to tie the game with 8:44 left in the first quarter.

It was all Seahawks after that as they tallied 31 more points before the halftime whistle sounded. Linta completed a 48-yard pass to Chris Woodard before Fulse rambled 55 yards on the ground. Jordan Haven then returned a fumble 46 yards and Fulse once again found paydirt on a long run, this one going 51 yards. Eric Silvester accounted for the final two scores of the game, hitting a 33-yard field goal to end the second quarter and a 31-yarder midway through the third quarter.
