Purdue Tidbits -
The Colonials and Boilermakers met for just the third time in the all-time series, with Purdue having won each of the contests ... RMU held Carsen Edwards, the Blue Ribbon Yearbook Preseason National Player of the Year, to 19 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the field ... Edwards had eclipsed 20 points in six consecutive games entering the tilt with Robert Morris ... Senior guard Josh Williams led the starters with eight points and also added four rebounds, while sophomore forward Charles Bain contributed seven points and a team-high six caroms.

Knock Them Down - Josh Williams sat out the 2017-18 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules after coming to Robert Morris from Akron. A slow start in shooting is now a distant memory, as the senior guard enters Wednesday's game against Youngstown State having shot 56.5 percent (26-for-46) from beyond the arc in his last four games. During that stretch, the Colonials are 3-1 (.750) and Williams is averaging 22.0 points per contest. Williams enters play this week tied for second nationally in three-point field goals made per game with an average of 5.00 per contest. He is tied with Matt Frierson of the Citadel and trails only Antoine Davis (6.50) of Detroit Mercy.

Forward Momentum - Malik Petteway has settled in nicely as a key contributor off the bench for Robert Morris, as the senior forward enters Wednesday's game against Youngstown State having posted averages of 17.7 points and 5.7 rebounds over his last three games. During that stretch, Petteway has knocked down 70 percent (21-for-30) of his shots from the floor. Petteway, who ranks second in the Northeast Conference in field goal percentage (.667), also has knocked down 11 consecutive free throws entering RMU's tilt with the Penguins. Petteway also ranks second in the league in free-throw percentage with a success rate of 89.5 percent (17-for-19).

The Senior - Matty McConnell became the 47th player in RMU's NCAA Division I history to appear in 100 career games when he played @ Purdue (11/23/18). RMU's active leader in points (826), McConnell ranks 11th all-time for the Colonials in career starts (91) and is just two more from cracking the top 10. Over the last two seasons, Robert Morris owns a record of 15-5 (.750) when McConnell finishes in double figures scoring after contributing 12 points in an 81-72 victory @ Stetson (11/19/18).

Close and Late - A common theme in the nine years that head coach Andrew Toole has been at the helm at Robert Morris has been playing close games late. During Toole's tenure, the Colonials have posted a record of 55-32 (.632) in games decided by five points or less, including a mark of 8-6 (.571) in games decided by just a single point.
