Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University women's soccer continued Northeast Conference play Friday with a 1-0 loss to Sacred Heart. The match against the Pioneers opened a two-game homestand for RMU at the North Athletic Complex.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
SHU notched the only marker of the contest at the 23:51 mark of the first half. Hannah Busch found the back of the next for a goal that proved to be the game winner. Pinballing in the box, Busch was able to curl the goal into the top left corner to put the Pioneers (6-5-2 / 3-1-1 NEC) in front.
ON THE ATTACK
Robert Morris (4-8-1 / 2-3-0) outshot Sacred Heart, 10-4, including 6-3 in the second half. The Colonials also had four shots on goal, including a pair from
Kristina Kelley. Kelley fired on goal early in the second half, but SHU keeper Elyssa Kipperman came up with the save, and 10 second later
Kayla Veloso-Lima fired on net, but Kipperman kept RMU off the board.
IN NET
Sydney Bruckner earned her 11th start of the 2019 campaign for Robert Morris and recorded a save, while Kipperman recorded four saves for the Pioneers.

RMU will look to get back in the win column Sunday by welcoming Fairleigh Dickinson to the North Athletic Complex for a match that starts at 4:00 p.m.
