- The Robert Morris University men's basketball team returns to action in the Men Against Breast Cancer (MABC) Invitational Friday with a 2:00 p.m. tip against Howard at Savage Arena in Toledo, Ohio. The tilt is the first of four consecutive games away from home for the Colonials.
 
- RMU opened Peoples Court at the UPMC Events Center in front of a sold out crowd of 4,034, with a 71-57 loss to Pitt (11/12/19). The Colonials fells behind, 7-0, before an 18-0 run gave Robert Morris its biggest lead of the contest.
 
- Redshirt senior guard Josh Williams led RMU against the Panthers with 12 points, five assists and three steals. Off the bench, sophomore guard Jalen Hawkins posted his first double-figure scoring effort for the Colonials with 11 points.
 
- Senior forward Yannis Mendy contributed 10 points and four rebounds against Pitt (11/12/19) and through three games is shooting 66.7 percent (16-for-24) from the field, which ranks third in the Northeast Conference.
 
- Pitt visited the free-throw line 27 times in the first game at Peoples Court at UPMC Events Center, knocking down 22 (81.5%). In the first three games of the 2019-20 campaign, opponents have visited the charity stripe 50 (72-22) more times than Robert Morris.
 
- In its last game of the Men Against Breast Cancer (MABC) Invitational, RMU dropped 92-57 decision @ Notre Dame (11/9/19). Redshirt senior guard Josh Williams scored a game-high 21 points to pace Robert Morris.
 
- The Colonials opened their 2019-20 campaign and 44th season of NCAA Division I basketball with a 67-60 loss @ Marshall (11/7/19) in its first game of the Men Against Breast Cancer (MABC) Invitational.

- Senior forward Yannis Mendy paced RMU against the Thundering Herd by tying a career-high with 14 points while grabbing seven rebounds. He converted seven of his eight shots from the field.
 
- In his NCAA Division I debut, junior forward AJ Bramah registered a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds to go along an assist and two steals. Combined, Mendy and Bramah recorded nine offensive caroms @ Marshall.
 
- Redshirt senior guard Josh Williams joined the Robert Morris 1,000-Point Club against the Thundering Herd, as his three-pointer at the 18:51 mark of the second half helped him eclipse the threshold.
 
- Williams finished with 13 points @ Marshall in the 2019-20 season opener and also registered four rebounds, two assists and a steal. In two seasons at the University of Akron prior to transferring to RMU, Williams scored 489 points and has scored 552 points for the Colonials.
 
- Over the last 12 years, Robert Morris has averaged 20.1 victories per season. The Colonials have recorded an overall record of 241-172 (.584) during that span, including a mark of 148-66 (.692) against Northeast Conference foes.

RMU slipped to 0-31 all-time against Pitt, but Tuesday's game marked the first time the Colonials hosted the Panthers ... Pitt shot 44 percent (22-for-50) from the floor,  including 41.7 percent (5-for-12) from beyond the arc ... Robert Morris converted 37.9 percent (22-for-58) of its shots from the field, including 35 percent (7-for-20) from beyond the arc ... The Colonials owned a 14-10 edge in points off turnovers ... Pitt held a 39-27 edge on the glass, including 13-10 in offensive rebounds ... Senior forward Yannis Mendy posted two offensive caroms against the Panthers and through three games owns eight offensive boards, an average of 2.67 per game.
 
Distributing - Redshirt senior guard Josh Williams certainly has the ability to score the basketball, but in the early portion of the 2019-20 season, he's proving a capable distributor. Through three games, Williams owns nine assists against just three turnovers, an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.00 that ranks third in the Northeast Conference.
 
Start Me Up - Junior guard Jon Williams owns RMU's active streaks for games played and starts, both of which are at 71 games entering Friday's game against Howard. Williams became just the seventh student-athlete in program history to start at least 70 consecutive games when he was a member of the starting five @ Notre Dame (11/9/19), joining former guards Velton Jones (2008-13) and Coron Williams (2009-13). Sitting in fourth for consecutive starting assignments is former forward Chaz McCrommon (2000-05), who started the final 85 games of his career. Across NCAA Division I entering, the 71 consecutive starts ranks third in the junior class, trailing Taveion Hollingsworth of Western Kentucky (74) and Matt Coleman III from Texas (74).
 
Did You Know? Robert Morris is 41-16 (.719) in 10 seasons under head coach Andrew Toole when finishing with at least 40 rebounds in a game. The Colonials have won nine consecutive contests when grabbing at least 40 boards in a game dating back to the 2017-18 season.
 
Board Games - Part of following the formula in regard to being successful for RMU over the last 13 seasons has been the program's ability to crash the boards. Since the beginning of the 2007-08 campaign, Robert Morris owns a record of 162-43 (.790) when the Colonials are even or better in rebounding in a game, including a 153-37 (.805) mark when outrebounding their opponent.
 
The Steel City - Robert Morris has consistently been at the top of the Northeast Conference leaderboard in steals throughout head coach Andrew Toole's tenure, as the Colonials have led the league in steals in three of the last four years as well as six times overall. Robert Morris has posted 19 steals through its first three games of the 2019-20, an average of 6.33 per game.
 
Defensively Speaking -
Robert Morris has won 18 consecutive games when holding opponents to less than 60 points dating back to the 2016-17 season. In 10 years under Andrew Toole, the Colonials are 65-7 (.903) overall when turning the trick. During the 2018-19 campaign, RMU finished a perfect 10-0.
