- The Robert Morris University men's basketball team concludes a three-game road trip Saturday looking for its first road victory of the season with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Florida Gulf Coast at Alico Arena in Fort Myers, Fla.
 
- RMU dropped an 81-70 decision @ Youngstown State (12/4/19) to open the month of December. Off the bench, junior guard Jalen Hawkins and senior guard Sayveon McEwen combined for 30 points and 11 rebounds.
 
- Hawkins led the way for the Colonials against the Penguins with career highs in both points (17) and rebounds (7) while notching two steals. He shot 8-for-14 from the field and 1-for-2 at the free-throw line.
 
- McEwen reached double figures for the third time in the last four games by tying a career high with 13 points @ Youngstown State. He converted five of his nine shots from the floor, including 2-for-3 from deep, and also notched four rebounds and two assists.
 
-The Colonials enter Saturday's game @ FGCU leading the Northeast Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.12) while ranking second in the league in turnover margin (+1.90) and assists (15.60).
 
- Robert Morris opened its three-game road swing with a 70-59 loss @ Cleveland State (11/30/19). RMU suffered a season-high 20 turnovers, while the Vikings shot 55.6 percent (25-for-45) from the field.
 
- Redshirt senior guard Josh Williams paced Robert Morris with 17 points @ Cleveland State and tied a career high with six rebounds, while junior forward AJ Bramah scored 12 points and grabbed six boards.
 
- RMU garnered its first victory on Peoples Court at the UPMC Events Center with a 102-62 win over Geneva (11/27/19). Redshirt senior guard Josh Williams led six players in double figures against the Golden Tornadoes by tying a season high with 21 points. He also added five assists and five steals.
 
- Forwards AJ Bramah and Yannis Mendy each recorded double-doubles in the triumph over Geneva, with Bramah notching 16 points and 11 boards and Mendy posting 15 points and 11 caroms.
 
- Off the bench against the Golden Tornadoes, forward Charles Bain scored 14 points, while guards Jalen Hawkins and Sayveon McEwen each finished with 13 points. Combined, the trio knocked down seven of their 18 (38.8%) attempts from beyond the arc.
 
- Robert Morris will have 10 days off after taking on Florida Gulf Coast Saturday, returning to action Tuesday, Dec. 17, by hosting Central Michigan at Peoples Court at the UPMC Events Center for a 7:00 p.m. tip. It marks the final non-conference home game of the 2019-20 campaign for the Colonials.

Youngstown State Tidbits -
RMU slipped to 11-9 (.550) all-time against the Penguins, including 5-5 (.500) at the Beeghly Center ... Robert Morris and Youngstown State tied in rebounds, 39-39, with the Colonials owning a 12-9 advantage on the offensive glass ... The RMU bench outscored the YSU reserves, 30-28 ... Starting guards Dante Treacy (5) and Jon Williams (4) combined for nine assists against just two turnovers ... Robert Morris finished 10-for-28 (35.7%) from beyond the arc ... Junior guard Jon Williams knocked down three of his seven attempts from deep.
 
Picking His Spots -
Sophomore guard Dante Treacy is proving to be a capable distributor in his first season as a starter with Robert Morris in 2019-20. Over the last five games, Treacy has dished out 30 assists, an average of 6.0 per game, while committing just 13 turnovers, an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.31. Treacy ranks third in the Northeast Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.91) and fifth in assists (4.20 per game). Ranking one spot behind Treacy in fourth among NEC leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio is junior guard Jon Williams (1.85).
 
Carving A Niche -
Sayveon McEwen has stepped up for RMU off the bench, as the senior guard is averaging 9.3 points and 3.0 rebounds over the last four games. During that stretch, McEwen has reached double figures three times, including a career-high 13 points in a 102-62 win over Geneva (11/27/19) as well as @ Youngstown State (12/4/19). McEwen has shot 41.2 percent (7-for-17) from deep the last four games and overall is tied for sixth in the Northeast Conference in three-point field goal percentage (.400).
 
Army Reserve -
The development of senior guard Sayveon McEwen is a key reason Robert Morris is averaging 22.9 points per game from the bench through 10 games of the season. The Colonials are 2-2 (.500) this season when the bench scores at least 25 points in a game, and each of the four occasions have come in the last seven contests. During that stretch, the RMU bench is averaging 25.8 points per game. Junior guard Jalen Hawkins, one of the first options off the bench for Robert Morris, is averaging 11.8 points and 3.4 rebounds over his last five games while shooting 49 percent (25-for-51) from the field. He has scored in double figures three times in that span. 
 
Point Break -
Jon Williams became the 15th student-athlete in program history to reach 300 career assists when he finished with four dimes @ Youngstown State (12/4/19). Williams enters Saturday's game with an even 300 assists in 78 career games, an average of 3.85 per game that ranks eighth in the Robert Morris career record book. He needs just two assists to move into 14th, as former guard Maurice Carter (2001-05) is one spot ahead of Williams with 301 career dimes. Williams also owns a career assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.62, which is tied for sixth in program history with former guard Andre Boyd (1987-91).
