Catonsville, Md. – Briana Bunner went 3-for-3 and the
Robert Morris University softball outhit Albany Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as the Great Danes outscored the Colonials, 5-4, to wrap up action at the La Quinta Inn & Suites BWI hosted by UMBC. Bunner hit her first home run of the season and accounted for a pair of runs batted in.

// Rounding the Bases
A leadoff walk to Mariah Miramontez haunted RMU when she scored on a groundout by Katie Falotico. Sarah Petzold followed with a solo home run to left field that staked Albany to a 2-0 lead.
The Colonials answered in the bottom of the frame.
Brittney Seibert singled and came home on
Abrielle McCartney's RBI single to right. McCartney then stole second allowing her score when
Briana Bunner singled through the left side.
The score remained deadlocked until the fourth when Aliyah Wade hit a bases loaded single to center field to score two runs. Bunner answered with her first home run of the season, a solo shot to center that made it a one-run contest.
The Great Danes added a run in the top of the seventh.
Ashley Kent tripled to right and scored on a throwing error by the right fielder, but the Colonials would get no closer in the 5-4 loss.

Bunner went 3-for-3, hit her first home run of the season and drove in a pair of runs. Kent tacked on two hits, including a seventh inning triple. Seibert, McCartney and
Taryn Miller all had singles. Wade was 3-for-3 for the Great Danes, driving in three runs and had a triple as well.

Celeste Verdolivo improved to 7-3 with the win. She went the distance, allowing three earned runs and eight hits while whiffing three batters.
Katie Gasvoda took the loss. The rookie hurler went four innings and was charged with four runs and five hits.
Laura Coulter allowed a run in a hit in two innings of relief while
Dana Vatakis finished out the game.

After 25 games on the road or at neutral sites, Robert Morris is scheduled to open its home slate on Wednesday, March 27, when they play host to Cleveland State in a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader at North Athletic Complex.
