The Robert Morris University softball team concludes an eight-game homestand with a pair of Northeast Conference doubleheaders at the North Athletic Complex this weekend. The Colonials entertain Wagner Saturday, April 13, for a 1:00 p.m. twin bill before hosting Sacred Heart Sunday, April 14, in a doubleheader slated to start at Noon.

// AROUND THE HORN
> RMU is currently 2-2 (.500) during its eight-game homestand and 3-3 (.500) overall at home in 2019
> The Colonials earned a split against Youngstown State (4/10/19), falling in game one, 3-2, before winning game two, 4-1
> Freshman Dana Vatakis allowed just an unearned run in seven innings to pick up the win in game two against the Penguins
> Freshman Brittney Seibert went 3-for-6 at the dish in two games against YSU, scoring three runs
> Seibert has hit safely in six of her last seven games, hitting .556 (10-for-18) with five runs and six RBI during that stretch
> Senior Abrielle McCartney went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI in RMU's 4-1 win over Youngstown State
> Robert Morris split a doubleheader with Niagara (4/9/19), falling in game one, 6-5, before winning, 2-0, in game two
> Senior Kaitlin Ellzy spun a complete game vs. the Purple Eagles in game two, scattering three hits and striking out a pair
> Freshman Erika Bell has hit safely in five of her last six games, hitting at a .368 clip (7-for-19) during that span
> Senior Abrielle McCartney leads Robert Morris in multi-hit games (10) and owns the longest hitting streak at eight games
> Freshman Brittney Seibert is the only member of the Colonials to start all 39 games in 2019
> Seibert is hitting .353 (12-for-34) this season with runners on base
> Junior Natalie Higgins leads the Colonials in batting average with runners on base at .366 (15-for-41)
> Nine different student-athletes have homered for the Colonials, led by Natalie Higgins with six
> RMU scored 19 runs in its opening four games, its best output in a four-game start since scoring 20 in 2011
> The Colonials return 11 players from their 2018 team, including every player who threw a pitch for the team
> RMU added seven freshmen to its 2019 roster, two pitchers and five position players
> Sophomore Kaitlyn Clark was an All-Northeast Conference First Team pick as a utility player last season
> Clark hit .274 last season, playing 36 games and starting 25 at five different positions
> The team's top hitter, Natalie Higgins, is back after hitting .361 and leading the team in slugging percentage (.541)
> Freshman Kristýna Malá played for the Czech National Team in 2018
> The Colonials have won four of the last eight NEC regular-season titles
> RMU had the fifth-highest grade point average, 3.598, in NCAA Division I last season and claimed the NEC Team GPA Award
> Robert Morris was picked ninth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll

The Colonials take to the road for six consecutive games, including non-conference doubleheaders with Kent State (4/17/19) and Akron (4/23/19) and a Northeast Conference doubleheader @ Fairleigh Dickinson (4/20/19).
