MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
The Golden Flashes plated a pair of runs in the bottom half of the second and the third innings before the Colonials got their offense going, scoring three runs in the top of fourth. Junior
Briana Bunner opened the inning with a single to center, and senior
Taylor Bartlow followed with a double. That left ducks on the pond for junior
Taryn Miller, who doubled to center on the first pitch of her at bat to drive home a pair. Miller would eventually come around to score on a fielder's choice from freshman
Ashley Kent.
KENT STATE RESPONDS
KSU scored four in the home half of the fourth inning to grab an 8-3 advantage and scored three more in the fifth to end the contest. The big hit came courtesy of Jen Cader, who drilled a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
AT THE DISH
Bunner finished 2-for-3 with a run in game one, while freshman
Brittney Seibert also went 2-for-3 for the Colonials. Miller finished 1-for-3 with a run and a pair of RBI and has hit safely in seven of her last 10 games.

ON TARGET
Andrea Scali was the story in game two for Kent State, as she struck out 11, faced just one batter over the minimum and dealt a no-hitter for the Golden Flashes. She tossed 90 pitches, getting five fly outs and five ground outs. RMU's only baserunner came in the top of the second, when Miller reached on an error by third baseman Bailey Brownfield.
