The Robert Morris University softball team returns home to the North Athletic Complex for a pair of Northeast Conference doubleheaders that will open a six-game homestand. The Colonials welcome LIU Brooklyn Saturday, April 27, for a 1:00 p.m. double dip before entertaining Mount St. Mary's Sunday, April 28, in a twin bill slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.

// AROUND THE HORN
> RMU wrapped up its non-conference slate by dropping a pair of games @ Akron (4/23/19)
> The Colonials fell in the first game against the Zips, 5-3, before dropping a 12-3 decision in five innings in game two
> Junior Natalie Higgins returned @ Akron after missing the previous eight games and finished 3-for-7 (.429) in the two games
> Higgins connected for her seventh home run of the 2019 campaign in game one against the Zips
> Higgins has fashioned a five-game hitting streak, posting an average of .450 (9-for-20) during that stretch
> Senior Abrielle McCartney collected her first three-hit game of the 2019 season in game one @ Akron, going 3-for-4 with a run
> McCartney finished the twin bill against the Zips 4-for-7 at the dish with two runs and a pair of doubles
> Junior Taryn Miller tied Higgins for the team lead in dingers with her seventh of the year in game two @ Akron
> Freshman Brittney Seibert is hitting .389 (14-for-36) in April with six runs, three doubles, a home run and seven RBI
> Seibert is the only member of the Colonials to start all 45 games in 2019
> Seven of RMU's regular starters are hitting .300 or better during the month of April
> McCartney became the 13th player in program history to accumulate 150 career hits @ Kent State (4/17/19)
> McCartney doubled in the top of the first of game one against the Golden Flashes for career hit No. 150
> McCartney has hit safely in 18 of her last 22 games, hitting .353 (26-for-73) with 16 runs and 10 RBI during that stretch
> Over that same 22-game span, junior Brianna Bunner has hit .359 (23-for-64) with seven doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI
> Freshman Dana Vatakis has been named both the NEC Pitcher of the Week & NEC Rookie of the Week twice in 2019>
> Vatakis first earned double honors from the NEC March 26, 2019, and again April 16, 2019
> McCartney owns a team-high 12 multiple-hit games for Robert Morris in 2019
> Senior Taylor Bartlow has hit .714 (10-for-14) this season when leading off an inning
> Nine different student-athletes have homered for the Colonials, led by Natalie Higgins and Taryn Miller with seven each
> Freshman Kristýna Malá played for the Czech National Team in 2018
> The Colonials have won four of the last eight NEC regular-season titles
> RMU had the fifth-highest grade point average, 3.598, in NCAA Division I last season and claimed the NEC Team GPA Award
