The Robert Morris University softball team concludes a six-game homestand Saturday by hosting Sacred Heart at the North Athletic Complex at Noon. Originally scheduled for Sunday, April 14, the twin bill against the Pioneers is part of makeup weekend. The Colonials will travel to Teaneck, N.J., after hosting SHU for a makeup doubleheader @ Fairleigh Dickinson Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

> RMU is currently 1-3 (.250) on its homestand, having been swept by LIU Brooklyn and splitting with Mount St. Mary's
> Senior Abrielle McCartney has hit safely in each of her last six games, posting a batting average of .524 (11-for-21)
> During the last six games McCartney owns seven runs, six RBI, four doubles and a pair of home runs
> McCartney has raised her batting average 65 points over the last 26 games and is hitting a team-high .331 overall in 2019

> Junior Taryn Miller has posted a batting average of .375 (12-for-32) at home with eight runs, three home runs and eight RBI
> Seibert is the only member of the Colonials to start all 49 games in 2019
> Seven of RMU's regular starters hit .300 or better during the month of April, led by junior Natalie Higgins at .389 (14-for-36)
> McCartney became the 13th player in program history to accumulate 150 career hits @ Kent State (4/17/19)
> McCartney doubled in the top of the first of game one against the Golden Flashes for career hit No. 150
> McCartney ranks 11th all-time at Robert Morris with 161 career hits and is seven hits short of cracking the top 10 at RMU
> Freshman Dana Vatakis has been named both the NEC Pitcher of the Week & NEC Rookie of the Week twice in 2019
> Vatakis first earned double honors from the NEC March 26, 2019, and again April 16, 2019
> Senior Taylor Bartlow has hit .667 (12-for-18) this season when leading off an inning
> Nine different student-athletes have homered for the Colonials, led by Natalie Higgins and Taryn Miller with seven each
> Malá played for the Czech National Team in 2018
> The Colonials have won four of the last eight NEC regular-season titles
> RMU had the fifth-highest grade point average, 3.598, in NCAA Division I last season and claimed the NEC Team GPA Award

RMU will look to earn a spot in the Northeast Conference Tournament based on its doubleheaders with Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson this weekend. The tournament takes place May 9-11, 2019, at the home of the 2019 regular-season champion.
