ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Robert Morris University women's hockey team improved to 3-0 (3-0 CHA) on the season with a 4-0 win Thursday night against Lindenwood.
Raygan Kirk recorded her first shutout of the season in goal and Lexi Templeman scored her 100th career point in the victory.
RMU struck first for the third straight game, going up 1-0 at the 3:11 mark after Marah Wagner finished off a pretty passing sequence with Kyleigh Hanzlik, taking a backhand feed from the redshirt junior at the line before stuffing it past Asplundh.
Templeman doubled the Colonials lead to 2-0 a little over a minute later, finding herself all alone in front of the Lindenwood net for a tap in.
Kirk answered the bell at the other end of the ice for RMU, making a number of nice saves to keep it 2-0, including a sliding right-to-left post save on Maddison Stitt.
Anjelica Diffendal made it three for good measure in the opening frame, slamming home a rebound off an initial Gillian Thompson shot for a tally in her 100th career game.
Templeman surpassed a milestone of her own towards the end of the second frame after Michaela Boyle tipped her shot on the way to the net past Asplundh, giving the captain an assist and her 100th career point to put RMU in the driver seat.
The Colonials hunted a fifth, nearly getting one after Maggy Burbidge rang a shot off the pipe for the second time on the night but it never came as RMU held on to win 4-0.

QUOTABLES
"I thought it was a great team win. I felt like we put together a solid 60 minutes tonight, really good effort. Our D played great moving the puck and our forwards stepped up, we had a goal from every line tonight and we also had a power play goal." - Head Coach Paul Colontino
"Nobody is more deserving than Lexi. It's fun to watch as a coach because she's just had such a tremendous impact for us in the program in her time here. She puts in the time at practice, works hard, trains hard, she's prepared for every game. For a senior and a captian to get her 100th early in the season like that is really cool to see." - Coach Colontino
