Moon Township, Pa. – Forward Jaycee Gebhard of the Robert Morris University women's hockey team capped arguably the most decorated career in program history Friday by being named to the 2019-2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America® At-Large Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Despite the cancellation of spring competition due to the global pandemic, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America programs, with student-athletes selected based on their career statistics.

Gebhard is the first RMU women's hockey student-athlete to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American and the fourth female student-athlete in athletic department history. She joins Whitney Brown (2019) and Amanda Graham (2010) of the volleyball program and former softball student-athlete Annie Dubovec (2011).

Named both the Outstanding Senior Female and the Presidential Scholar-Athlete at the 2020 RMU Virtual Athletics Award Ceremony, Gebhard graduated from Robert Morris with a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree in marketing in May with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.94.

Gebhard led College Hockey America in scoring for the second consecutive year in 2019-20 en route to 2020 All-CHA First Team accolades, finishing with 20 goals and 43 assists for 63 points. In addition to establishing an RMU single-season record for points, she ranked fourth in NCAA Division I in points per game (1.75). Gebhard's 43 assists in 36 contests helped her ranked second in the country in assists per game (1.19), and she also finished with four short-handed goals, leading all of NCAA Division I.

In her four years in an RMU uniform, Gebhard helped the Colonials claim three CHA regular-season championships (2017, 2018, 2019) as well as the 2017 CHA Tournament title and the program's first automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. During her four seasons on the active roster, Robert Morris compiled an overall record of 81-39-20 (.650).

In 136 career games, Gebhard concluded her career as the program's all-time leading scorer with 198 points courtesy of 74 goals and a program-record 124 assists. In averaging 1.46 points per game during her career, Gebhard also compiled totals of 24 power-play goals, 12 game-winning markers and five shorthanded goals.

Gebhard, a native of Plenty, Saskatchewan, was selected in the first round (sixth overall pick) of the 2020 National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) Entry Draft by the Toronto Six and also recently signed a professional contract with Brynas IF of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL).

Gebhard was one of just two ice hockey student-athletes to earn Academic All-America recognition in 2019-20. Léa-Kristine Demers of Merrimack earned a spot on the 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team. In all, a total of 11 sports were represented on the 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Teams, including swimming, tennis, field hockey, fencing, ice hockey, lacrosse, golf, rifle, crew, gymnastics and beach volleyball.

Overall in RMU athletic department history, a total of 12 student-athletes have earned CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition.
