Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU volleyball team opened a three-match road trip Thursday with a 3-0 loss to Milwaukee at the Klotsche Center. The Colonials dip to 9-10 (.474) overall during the 2021 season, including 2-5 (.286) in the Horizon League.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Carmen Heilemann and Ari Miller each finished with 11 kills for the Panthers, with both of them posting hitting percentages of .500 or better in the sweep. Miller finished at .533 with three errors in 15 attempts, while Heilemann finished at .500 thanks to two errors on 18 total attempts. Heilemann also added seven digs. As a team, Milwaukee (14-6 / 8-0 #HLVB) posted a hitting percentage of .361 and finished with 41 kills.
AROUND THE BLOCK
Fifth-year middle blocker
Emma Granger paced the Colonials with four kills and made history Thursday, establishing her second career record in program history. Her block assist in the second set with fellow fifth-year student-athlete
Alyson Londot pushed Granger's career total for blocks to 464. She came into the match tied with former middle blocker Becky Jay (2011-14) with 463 career total blocks and in finishing with a pair of blocks assists against the Panthers moved her total to 465 overall. Granger also owns the RMU career record for service aces (225).

Tying for team-high honors on the match in kills was freshman middle blocker
Abby Powers, who notched four in 15 total attempts to go along with a .067 hitting percentage. Sophomore outside hitter
Annie Monaco registered three kills, seven digs and a service ace, while junior
Allena Carmody finished with six digs.
