Colonials Outlast Raiders In Dayton

DAYTON, Oh. - The Robert Morris University men's soccer team earned a victory over Horizon League foe Wright State Saturday night at Alumni Field, taking down the host Raiders 2-1 for their second conference win of the season.

Ethan Romito and Gal Ben Dayan both scored for RMU on the evening, while keeper Grant Glorioso made a career-high nine saves to earn his first win of the season in goal.

Romito's tally capped off what was a back and forth first half between the Colonials and Raiders in Dayton.

After Bryan Akongo missed wide on a pair of shots, Glorioso faced down a good look from WSU in the 7', stopping a volley from Zion Beaton to help keep the Colonials above water.

Ben Dayan was subbed off for Romito in the 37' and the junior wasted no time making an impact on the game, burying his first goal in over two years less than a minute later to set RMU off and running.

Glorioso came up huge with two more saves in the final three minutes of the opening half to help RMU carry a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Wright State would answer back with volley after volley in the second, tilting the field at times and putting Glorioso and the RMU back line under pressure for long stretches, however both the keeper and the Colonial defense held firm

Ben Dayan doubled the Colonial lead in the 58', sticking home a penalty kick from the spot for his team-leading second goal of the season to give RMU some much needed breathing room.

The Raiders finally managed to get on the board in the 83' but could not find another as RMU helped on for the 2-1 win.
