Cleveland, Ohio – The Robert Morris University volleyball team fell to Cleveland State in straight sets this evening in Horizon League play from Woodling Gymnasium. RMU drops to 0-10 (0-10 HL) with the defeat, while the Vikings move to 7-5 (7-5 HL).
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
RMU started slow in the second set, giving Cleveland State a 4-0 advantage before Alyssa Hudak stopped the bleeding briefly with a kill. After a Peyton Bloomer spike on the next rally made it 5-1, Alyson Londot found the floor and Emma Granger served up an ace to spark three straight points and bring the Colonials within one. Abby Ryan buried a Megan Cannon feed at 6-6 to tie the frame, then another Ryan kill and combo block by Granger and Cannon put RMU ahead 9-8. The Vikings responded with seven unanswered points and a 12-1 run overall to regain control of the set and ultimately take it by a score of 25-15.
