- The RMU volleyball team opens the month of October by concluding a four-match homestand with a pair of Horizon League matches at the UPMC Events Center. The Colonials welcome Purdue Fort Wayne Friday, Oct. 1, for a 6:00 p.m. opening serve before hosting IUPUI Saturday, Oct. 2, at 4:00 p.m.

- RMU dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions to open its homestand, falling to Cleveland State (9/24) and Oakland (9/25). Graduate student
Emma Granger led the Colonials in the two matches, compiling 16 kills, a .344 attack percentage, three service aces and 10 blocks.

Abby Ryan posted 14 kills and seven digs.

- RMU leads the Horizon League in service aces entering play this weekend, having recorded 117 in 53 sets, an average of 2.21 per set. The Colonials own the most aces in NCAA Division I, three more than Saint Louis and four more than Towson, while ranking fifth in the country in aces per set.

- Defensively, the Colonials top the Horizon League in opponent assists (10.53 per set), rank third in opponent hitting percentage (.186) and fourth in opponent blocks (1.87 per set). RMU ranks second in blocks (2.12 per set), trailing only Wright State (2.19), while sitting fifth in attack percentage (.191).

- Individually, Granger tops #HLVB in per set averages in both blocks (1.16) and service aces (0.69) while ranking sixth in hitting percentage (.286) and ninth in points (3.51 per set).

- In home matches at the UPMC Events Center, Ryan leads the Colonials with 52 kills (2.74 per set), while Granger has posted 51 kills, a .333 hitting percentage, nine service aces and 24 blocks.

- RMU takes to the road after concluding its four-match homestand, visiting Northern Kentucky Tuesday, Oct. 5, for a 6:00 p.m. match before returning home to host Youngstown State Friday, Oct. 8, at 6:00 p.m. at the UPMC Events Center. The tilt against the Penguins kicks off Homecoming festivities at RMU, with an alumni mixer to follow at Four Twelve Winery.

The All-Time Series (Purdue Fort Wayne) – RMU and Purdue Fort Wayne will meet for the sixth time Friday, with the Mastodons having claimed each of the first five matchups between the two programs. The all-time series began in 2006, with Purdue Fort Wayne winning a home-and-home series, both by the score of 3-0, before the Mastodons earned a 3-1 win over the Colonials in 2018 at the North Athletic Complex.

The All-Time Series (IUPUI) – Saturday's match between the Colonials and Jaguars will be the fourth in the all-time series between the two programs, with RMU owning a 2-1 (.667) edge. The Colonials grabbed the lead in the all-time series after earning a pair of victories over IUPUI last season at the UPMC Events Center. RMU posted a 3-1 win March 15, 2021, as part of its spring season, then grabbed the sweep with a 3-0 triumph the next day. Graduate student
Alyson Londot finished with 22 kills in the sweep, including 15 in RMU's first-ever victory over the Jaguars.

Still On Top – Emma Granger enters play this weekend atop NCAA Division I in service aces, as the fifth-year middle blocker owns 34 in 49 sets. She is tied with Dani Nay of Weber State, who has posted 34 in 47 sets. Granger, who owns the RMU career record for service aces (220) and is the only student-athlete in program history to eclipse 200 during her time as a member of the Colonials, ranks third in NCAA Division I in aces per set (0.69). Malgorzata Andersohn of Delaware State leads that category at 0.78 thanks to 28 aces in 36 sets, while Nay ranks second (0.72).

Red Hot Chili (Stuffed) Peppers – Granger also continues to climb the charts at RMU in regard to blocks. Last weekend at the UPMC Events Center as the Colonials opened Horizon League action, Granger finished with 10 blocks in two matches, pushing her career total in the category to 446. She moved past former middle blocker Amanda Graham (2007-10) into third place thanks to the performance and is now just 18 stuffs shy of breaking the career mark of 467, which is owned by former Colonial Becky Jay (2011-14).
