Can You Dig It?

- RMU Volleyball finishes up their four-game road trip with the final tilt at Cleveland State University.

- Danny Doherty is in his first full season leading the Colonials after being named head coach on Dec. 31, 2021. He served as interim head coach for the final four matches of the 2021 campaign.

- RMU is looking to earn their second Horizon League victory. The Colonials won their first against Purdue Fort Wayne (9/30) at the UPMC Events Center. A win against CSU would be their first conference win on the road.

- Under Coach Doherty, the team has proven to win games when going to five sets. In four games this season going to five sets, the Colonials are 3-1 while outscoring opponents 54-45.

- Upon completion of their match against Cleveland State, the Colonials will then bring conference play back home vs. Milwaukee (10/21) and Green Bay (10/22). 

CLEVELAND STATE LINKS
 
The All-Time Series (CSU) – In RMU volleyball team history, the squad owns a 1-24 all-time record against Cleveland State. The Colonials this Tuesday will be looking to earn their second win ever against the Vikings and second win in Horizon League play this season. Dating back to March of 2021, both of these teams have faced off five times. Junior outside hitter Abby Ryan, during that span has 49 kills. Her teammate and fellow outside hitter Alyssa Hudak, produced 42 kills in those five matches. In the last four games against the Vikings, senior libero Allena Carmody, is averaging over 16 digs per game with 65 total digs. Junior Annie Monaco, has played in the past two games against Cleveland State, earning 19 digs.
 
Milestone Watch – Senior Allena Carmody is looking to become the second student-athlete for the Colonials to join the RMU 1,000-Dig Club in as many years. Carmody is at 976 career digs entering this week. She would become the 14th RMU student-athlete in program history with 1,000 career digs. With 328 digs this season she passed her 326 digs produced last season. Abby Ryan in the past game at Northern Kentucky (10/14) tied her career high 205 kills in a season. In her RMU tenure, she holds 381 career digs, making the veteran 19 away from 400. The junior boasts 142 digs this season and possessed 160 last season. Alyssa Hudak carries 786 career kills. With 14 more against the Vikings she'll hold 800 kills as a Colonial. Junior Annie Monaco is currently at 172 kills. She scored 176 kills last year, giving her five more this season which will break her personal record. Sophomore setter Ashleigh Wallin, comes into tomorrow's match with 977 career assists. She's 23 away from reaching the 1,000 mark.

Upon the Horizon – Junior outside hitter Abby Ryan holds the sixth best number of digs (24) in a four-set match in the Horizon League conference. Senior libero Allena Carmody possesses the second-best number of digs (30) in a four-set match. Carmody is also sixth in the conference in digs per set with an average number of 4.05. The Colonials sit third in service aces across the conference with an average of 1.69 per set. RMU alone put together 13, 11, 10 and nine service aces in a four-set match in the month of September.
