Can You Dig It?

- RMU Volleyball begins a two game home stand against the Milwaukee Panthers (7-14 / 6-4 #HLVB) and the Green Bay Phoenix (17-7 / 8-2 #HLVB) in Horizon League play.

- Danny Doherty is in his first full season leading the Colonials after being named head coach on Dec. 31, 2021. He served as interim head coach for the final four matches of the 2021 campaign.

- RMU is looking to earn their second Horizon League victory. The Colonials won their first against Purdue Fort Wayne (9/30) at the UPMC Events Center.

- Under Coach Doherty, the team has proven to win games when going to five sets. In four games this season going to five sets, the Colonials are 3-1 while outscoring opponents 54-45. The team is also 4-6 in four set games while outscoring opponents 323-306.

- Upon completion of their matches against Milwaukee and Green Bay, RMU will head back out on the road to play IUPUI (10/28), Purdue Fort Wayne (10/29), and Oakland (11/1).

The All-time Series (MKE) – Milwaukee owns a 4-0 record against RMU since August of 2014. The Colonials will be looking for their first win ever against the Panthers in tomorrows match. In the past three meetings between these teams, senior libero Allena Carmody made 35 digs. Abby Ryan earned 15 digs in the past two games, and sophomore setter Ashleigh Wallin scored five aces in the past two.
 
The All-time Series (GB) – Since August of 2007, the Colonials are 1-4 all-time against the Phoenix. Carmody not only has recent success against Milwaukee but also against Green Bay. The senior posted 52 digs in her past three matches against the Phoenix. In their most recent match (9/23) sophomore outside hitter Ally Christman produced 10 kills.
 
Milestone Watch – Senior Allena Carmody is looking to become the second student-athlete for the Colonials to join the RMU 1,000-Dig Club in as many years. Carmody is at 986 digs entering this weekend. She would become the 14th RMU student-athlete in program history with 1,000 career digs. With 338 digs this year, she's produced the most in one season during her career. Outside hitter Alyssa Hudak has put together 790 kills in her career. She's 10 away from reaching 800 as a Colonial. Annie Monaco produced 176 kills last season and sits at 174 this year, making her three away from beating her personal best. Abby Ryan comes into this weekend with 391 digs, being nine away from 400 in her RMU tenure. Sophomore setter Ashleigh Wallin owns 977 career assists. This weekend she has a chance to reach 1,000. Freshman setter Kaitlyn Brown holds 386 assists in 2022.
 
Upon The Horizon – Heading into the weekend, Annie Monaco holds the record in the Horizon League this season for aces in a four set match with six vs. Oakland (9/20). Sophomore Page Gross has a personal best seven blocks in a four-set match against The Citadel (9/17), good for second best around the conference. Allena Carmody holds the second most digs in a four-set match with 30 vs. IUPUI (10/1). She also averages 4.02 digs per set, being sixth in the conference in that statistic. Abby Ryan is tenth in kills per set (2.95).
 
Aces High – Overall, RMU is third in the Horizon League in service aces per set. In 84 sets, they've served 138 aces at an average of 1.64. Monaco is seventh (.36) in service aces per set and Wallin is eighth at (.35).
 
Dating & Domestic Awareness/Pink Out Match – On Friday's match vs. Milwaukee, we look to help end dating and domestic violence. Fans are encouraged to wear purple to the match and bring supplies for women in need, donations will directly benefit the Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. Examples of accepted donations are toiletries, diapers, socks, etc…
