Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU men's soccer team concluded the road portion of its 2022 regular season Saturday, playing to a scoreless draw with Green Bay at Aldo Santaga Stadium. The Colonials will carry an overall record of 5-7-2 (.429) into their regular-season finale Wednesday, including a mark of 3-3-2 (.500) in the Horizon League, as they look to secure a spot in the 2022 #HLMSOC Championships.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
RMU wasted no time going on the offensive, unleashing four shots in the opening 21 minutes of action in trying to score the first marker of the contest. Tobias Jahn came up with three saves to keep it scoreless early for the Phoenix. Defensively the Colonials provided a stout opening 45 minutes, allowing just one shot, which came at the 24:29 mark and was wide left.
THE SECOND HALF
The roles reversed in the second half, with Green Bay (6-3-6 / 2-2-4 #HLMSOC) firing off three shots in the first 11 minutes after halftime, including two by Keegan Walker. RMU held an 11-8 advantage in shots in the contest, and also owned a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.

"I'm really proud of the professional performance tonight," RMU head coach
Jason O'Keefe said. "The only thing missing was a goal. We did a lot of what we wanted and executed in a variety of ways extremely well. In the end a shutout and a point on the road is something we can build on. We'll recover and turn our focus to IUPUI, which is having a record-breaking season."

WHERE WE STAND
RMU sits in sixth for the final spot in the 2022 #HLMSOC Championships with 11 points, one point ahead of Green Bay. Detroit Mercy and Oakland are tied for fourth with 12 points. The Colonials will welcome IUPUI to the North Athletic Complex Wednesday, Nov. 2, for the final match of the 2022 regular season. The Jaguars sit in second place in the league standings with 15 points. Green Bay, meanwhile, travels to first place Cleveland State to conclude its 2022 regular season.
