Opening Tip
- The RMU women's basketball team wraps up their non-conference schedule this Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff against an A10 opponent, St. Bonaventure.
- The Colonials are currently unbeaten at home (5-0), winning against Saint Francis (11/7), George Mason (11/10), Waynesburg (11/12), Wheeling (11/14) and Canisius (11/26) to begin the season.
- In their last game played at No. 23 Oklahoma (12/11), sophomore Rebecca Dwomoh tied her career high putting up 14 points. She made four three-pointers which is now her career best from behind the arc.
- Natalie Johnson tied her career high as well against the Sooners, scoring eight points.
- Junior Mackenzie Amalia and sophomore Phoenix Gedeon both scored 15 points each and added five rebounds to the stat sheet.
- Gedeon leads the team in points and rebounds per game. In five games she's posted the most points on the team, and on five occasions she's led the team in rebounds.
- Robert Morris split a pair of Horizon League contests two weeks ago, capturing a 68-47 victory at Wright State (12/2) before falling at Northern Kentucky, 69-54 (12/4).
- When it matters most, RMU is outscoring opponents 176-151 in the fourth quarter.
- Led by Charlie Buscaglia, he's entering his seventh year as head coach for the women's basketball team in 2022-23. RMU earned a 70-56 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne (3/1) in the first round of the 2022 Horizon League Tournament at the UPMC Events Center last season.
- The team last season was 14-15 overall, and 11-11 in Horizon League play. In games at home, RMU was 8-6.

The All-Time Series (SBU) – In Colonials history, the team is 1-5 against the Bonnies. The first meeting was all the way back in 1988, where RMU was edged out 65-63. The Colonials one win against St. Bonaventure was back in 1991, winning 66-64 in Moon Township, Pa. Last season, RMU opened up their season at St. Bonaventure (11/9/21). The Colonials held the lead after three quarters but would fall, 61-53.
Mackenzie Amalia scored seven points in that game, and
Simone Morris added six points. Against current members of the A10 conference, RMU owns 23 wins all-time including a win earlier this season at home, beating George Mason in a last-minute thriller, 53-52.

Scouting the Bonnies – St. Bonaventure has yet to play a conference game this season. The team will play their eighth road game out of 10 against RMU Friday night. The Bonnies own a 3-8 record and are coming off a 50-48 victory over Binghamton (12/9). Senior I'yanna Lops matched her career-high of 22 points and shot 10-of-15 from the field. Kaitlyn Parker added 10 points and eight rebounds, which were both career-bests. Lops is ranked 15
th in the NCAA in blocking 2.4 shots per game, owning 26 so far this season. Maddie Dziezgowski and Nadechka Laccen are averaging 9.8 and 9.6 points per game. Laccen leads the team in assists with 37 on the year.

Charlie Buscaglia has stated throughout the season, defense is a staple in the program. The Colonials are ranked fourth across D1 in three-point defense percentage (22.6). Their turnover margin of +6.4, is ranked 24
th. They're also 46
th in turnovers forced per game (20.4) and sit 49
th in field goal percentage defense (.358).

Across The Horizon – Throughout the conference, RMU is ranked first in three-point defense (.226) and first in turnover margin (+6.4). The team is second in field goal percentage defense (.358). Overall, the Colonials are allowing the second least amount of points per game (57.7).

Sophomore
Phoenix Gedeon is ranked fourth in the conference in rebounds per game, averaging 7.5. She's also sixth in points per game (13.4), and sixth in field goal percentage (.376). Junior
Mackenzie Amalia is sixth in assists per game, averaging three a night.

Gedeon's 19 rebounds at Wright State (12/2) is the second most rebounds in a game so far through Horizon League play. Amalia's six helpers vs. Saint Francis (11/7) and at Oklahoma (12/11) are the fourth most assists in a game during the 2022-23 campaign.

Steal City – The Colonials have three players in the top six in steals per game: Dwomoh (1.6), Amalia (1.5), and Mastral (1.4). Amalia's six steals vs. Canisius (11/26) are the most in one game throughout the conference. Gedeon stole the ball five times vs. Waynesburg (11/12) making that the second most steals in a game.

Simone Morris is one point away from 200 career points and has 89 rebounds. Gedeon has 181 career caroms going into Friday's game. After their game at Oklahoma (12/11), sophomore

After facing the Bonnies, the Colonials will go on a two week break before they play two Horizon League games at home to end the calendar year. They'll host Purdue Fort Wayne (12/29) at 4:00 p.m. and face Cleveland State on New Year's Eve in the UPMC Events Center at 12:00 p.m.
