Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

RMU Falls in High Point Heartbreaker

The Colonials comeback was cut just short.

The Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team completed their third game in six days with a heartbreaking 13-11 loss to the High Point Panthers at Joe Walton Stadium. The week's split pushes RMU to 2-4 on the season.

MOMENTS THAT MATTER
The game remained close throughout the first two quarters with High Point only leading 4-2 heading into the third. However, a seven five to one run by the Panthers put RMU into a hole that they had to try and claw out of for the remainder of the game. With back-to-back goals by Torin Neal and Dan Taddeo, the Colonials were able to pull themselves within four.

Trailing 11-6 in the beginning of the fourth quarter, RMU got to work offensively with Taggart Clark scoring his third of the game. The pro returners, Jake Boudreau and Corson Kealey added to the comeback effort with two apiece. With 3:40 remaining in regulation, Kealey fired one past HPU goalkeeper Parker Green to bring the Colonials within one.

Unfortunately, sometimes it just is not meant to be. With 43 seconds remaining, Jaxson Lamb scored past Nate Randall to seal the Panther's victory.

PATTERN OF SUCCESS
With goals in today's game, Dan Taddeo and Will Johansen have both scored in their last three games. Additionally, Ben Starkey has a four-game goal street in his pocket.

NINE
It seems that the Colonials have a new contributor with every game. This evening, nine different RMU players had points against High Point.

DEFENSE
Freshman goalkeeper Nate Randall registered eight outstanding saves against the Panthers. Improving on his already impressive week, James Leary collected six ground balls and caused one turnover for RMU.

BO KNOWS FACEOFFS
Transfer Bo Columbus has made an immediate impact for the Colonials. Against High Point, the sophomore went 18-27 in the circle with seven ground balls and one CTO.

UP NEXT

Robert Morris will return to Joe Walton Stadium on Saturday, March 19. The Colonials are set to host Marquette at noon.
