Moon Township, Pa. – Fifth-year Keturah Hunter of the RMU track & field team was named to the 2022 Horizon League Indoor All-Academic Team Monday. Part of the integrated program at RMU, Hunter is pursuing a Master of Science degree in engineering management and has compiled a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.92.

A total of 17 student-athletes were named to the 2022 #HLTF All-Academic Team, while four more were tabbed as honorable mention in voting by the Horizon League faculty athletic representatives.

During the 2021-22 indoor season, Hunter, a native of Florence, S.C., claimed a total of five individual titles in seven competitions in the weight throw. Her best throw of the season came at the YSU Icebreaker (12/3/21) when she posted a toss of 18.65 meters (61'2.25"), which established a new meet record in the event. That distance also ranks third in school history.

Hunter claimed silver in the weight throw at the 2022 #HLTF Indoor Championships in Youngstown, Ohio, with a throw of 17.17 meters (56'4"), trailing only her teammate, Yessie Valencia. In the last two seasons as a member of the Colonials during indoor track & field competitions, Hunter won the weight throw in an astounding eight competitions. She owns three of the top five marks in the event in the RMU indoor record book.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal All-Academic Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. Led by second-year head coach Bryan Delsite, the Colonials finished fifth at the 2022 #HLTF Indoor Championships and will open their 2022 outdoor season with a pair of competitions. RMU will send select student-athletes to the Raleigh Relays Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, and will compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Saturday, March 26.
