Moon Township, Pa. – Senior Owen Down of the Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team earned his first career weekly honor on Tuesday when he was named ASUN Defensive Player of the week.

Down played a significant role in the Colonial's comeback win over Air Force on April 23rd. The senior caused a career-high four turnovers, while collecting a team-leading three ground balls. With his three GB's against the Falcons, the Scarborough, Ontario native has netted a ground ball in 10-straight games. Additionally, Down has caused a turnover in six-consecutive games for RMU.

Down earned a spot on the 2022 ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team after a 2021 campaign in which he tied for team-high honors in caused turnovers (14) while compiling 22 ground balls. This season, he has started in all 12 games for the Colonials, tallying 27 ground balls and being credited with 16 caused turnovers.

Robert Morris will conclude the 2022 regular season on the road at Cleveland State. Game time is set for noon at the Krenzler Bubble in Cleveland, Ohio on April 30th.
