Colonials Host YSU for Senior Day

RMU is set to close out regular season play with YSU on deck.

Moon Township, Pa. – The Robert Morris women's lacrosse team will close out the 2022 regular season by welcoming Youngstown State to Joe Walton Stadium for Senior Day. Game time is set for noon in Moon Township.

History w/ Youngstown State

Saturday will mark the fourth time that RMU has played Youngstown State since joining the MAC in 2021. The Colonials are currently undefeated against the Penguins.
Previously playing YSU on March 23rd, the Colonials took an 18-7 victory back to Moon Township. Three Colonials had hat tricks in the contest, with Colleen Tift netting four goals, while Julia Koterwas and Jerica Obee both scored three. Senior goalkeeper Jamie Keller made six saves in 60 minutes for RMU.

Scouting the Penguins
Theresa Walton is in her third season with Youngstown State and is the first head coach in the history of the program. Since 2019, Walton as cumulated an 11-14 record with the program. The Penguins are currently riding a four-game win streak, most recently defeating Kent State, 18-11.
 
Freshman Natalie Calandra-Ryan leads the Penguins with 58 goal in 16 games on the season. Graduate Student Savannah Clarke started in net for every game this season, playing 846:29 minutes and holding a 13.68 GAA and a .442 save percentage.
 
Fresh as It Gets
RMU's leading scorer is freshman Jenna Irwin. The Liverpool, N.Y. native currently leads the Colonials with 33 goals and 37 points, riding a 14-game point streak. She is the first freshman to lead the Robert Morris team in scoring since Annie Sachs in 2017.

Only the Best

According to the national NCAA statistics, RMU's Madison Griffin is ranked sixth in the nation in CTO's per game (2.5) and is currently tied for second in the nation for ground balls per game (3.43). Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jamie Keller ranks 50th in the NCAA in save percentage (.434) and 38th in saves per game (8.60).

Scoring Streak
The Colonials currently boast a number of active scoring streaks heading into Saturday's showdown. Julia Koterwas pushed her streak to eight-games last week against the Chippewas, while Colleen Tifft made it 11-straight and Jerica Obee is also riding high on a 10-game goal streak as well.
