Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Robert Morris Closes Out Regular Season with 19-12 Win

RMU's win over Cleveland State gives the Colonials a 8-5 overall record and a 4-1 ASUN conference conclusion.

A big third quarter by the Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team gives the team to a 19-12 comeback win over the Cleveland State Vikings on Saturday at the Krenzler Bubble. The victory in Cleveland solidifies a regular season record of 8-5, with a 4-1 conference record.

MOMENTS THAT MATTER
Cleveland State took an early 5-1 lead, holding all of the momentum through the first quarter of play. However, it was a buzzer beater by leading-scorer, Taggart Clark, that helped RMU shift the energy heading into the next 15.

Despite Cleveland State striking first in the quarter number two, RMU completed a five-goal run through the second quarter. Senior Dan Taddeo had a hand in every one of the five goals, scoring two on his own and then dishing out three assists. This allowed the Colonials to regain control of the game heading into the half.

RMU proceeded to post nine goals in the third quarter, as well as three more in the fourth. One of the fourth period goals included the first collegiate goal of freshman Kean Moon.

CAREER DAY
Senior Taggart Clark posted a career-high six goals and eight points against CSU on Saturday afternoon. He will finish the regular season in second place in the ASUN scoring race, trailing Brandon Dodd of Air Force by one goal.

Corson Kealey and Dan Taddeo each contributed six points on the day. This marks Kealey's fifth six-point game of the season and Taddeo's second.

ONE FOR THE MONEY

Trevor Barrett and Kean Moon each had a goal in the fourth quarter for the Colonials today. Lidstone, Boudreau, Eric Swagerty, Bo Columbus, James Christoforatoes and Will Johansen each contributed an assist in the contest.

TWO FOR THE SHOW
This marks the second consecutive game where multiple RMU players have tallied two goals or two assists. This is the second-straight two-goal game for, ironically, #3 Torin Neal. Additionally, Jake Boudreau, Colton Lidstone and Dan Taddeo each had two goals for the Colonials.

KEAL-ING IT
Corson Kealey ends the regular season with an impressive 22-game scoring streak, dating back to the beginning of the 2021 season. The graduate student scored his seventh hat trick of the season and dished out three assists in today's contest.

GREAT GOALIES
Since the Marquette match-up, RMU has been splitting goalkeeper duties between freshman Nate Randall and graduate student Ben Savick. It has worked in the Colonials favor, with Randall making 12 saves and Savick making nine. Senior Francisco Cox earned time in net as well, making three stops to close out the game for Robert Morris.

UP NEXT
RMU is slated as the #2 seed in the 2022 ASUN Conference Tournament in Huntsville, Al. With the conclusion of the 2022 regular-season today, Robert Morris will be facing Air Force on May 3rd.
