Moon Township, Pa. – Playing its third-straight home game, the Robert Morris University women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to three games on Thursday with a 1-1 draw against Mount St. Mary's at the North Athletic Complex.
With the tie, the Colonials move to 2-0-1 overall, while the Mountaineers stand at 0-0-2 this season.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Robert Morris started the game aggressive on offense as they recorded four shots in the first 17 minutes, two of which were by junior forward
Haleigh Finale. The Colonials threated in the 21st minute as freshman forward
Renae Mohrbacher saw her shot sail off target before classmate
Elisa Corvalan put a shot on goal, that was unfortunately saved. Robert Morris held an 8-3 shot advantage in a scoreless first half.
In the second half, the Colonials broke the scoring drought as Corvalan recorded her first career goal in the 49th minute. Senior
Sheridan Reid dribbled down the right side before delivering a strike inside the box, where Corvalan put a header over the goalkeepers' head, to give Robert Morris a 1-0 advantage. RMU continued to apply pressure as it recoded three more shots in the next six minutes.
After a mishit by the Colonials backline, Mount St. Mary's was able to take advantage and knot the score at 1-1 in the 70th minute. Madison Bee took the mishit kick into open field and was able to dribble a shot by redshirt goalkeeper
Isabella Bohlen. After three-straight corner kicks by Robert Morris, Corvalan had a look that went wide left at the 78:35-mark.
Bohlen finished with three saves on eight shots faced while playing all 90 minutes of action on Thursday.
