Moon Township, Pa. – Non-conference home games with Marshall and Saint Francis U, participation in the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic and a full slate of Horizon League games highlight the 2022-23 RMU men's basketball schedule.
The Colonials will open their 47th season of NCAA Division I men's basketball with an exhibition game against Nyack at the UPMC Events Center Saturday, Oct. 29. The 2022-23 regular season begins Monday, Nov. 7, with RMU traveling to Columbus, Ohio, to take on Ohio State at the Schottenstein Center.
The first of four non-conference regular season home games at the UPMC Events Center is set for Wednesday, Nov. 9, when the Colonials entertain Pitt Greensburg. The non-conference home slate also includes contests against West Virginia Wesleyan (Nov. 16), Marshall (Dec. 10) and Saint Francis U (Dec. 21).

Also on the non-conference schedule for RMU in 2022-23 are road games against Dayton (Nov. 19), Central Michigan (Dec. 7) and Mount St. Mary's (Dec. 18), as well as participation in the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic in Savannah, Ga., at Enmarket Arena. The Colonials will play three games in three days after the Thanksgiving holiday, including tilts against Mercer (Nov. 25), Evansville (Nov. 26) and South Alabama (Nov. 27).
Horizon League play commences Thursday, Dec. 1, when RMU opens a two-game road swing at Wright State. The Colonials will also visit Northern Kentucky Saturday, Dec. 3, for the opening weekend of league play. The home portion of the Horizon League slate for RMU opens Thursday, Dec. 29, against Purdue Fort Wayne, which is part of a stretch in which five of sevens games for the Colonials will come at the UPMC Events Center.
The 2022-23 season officially gets underway Thursday, Oct. 20, at 7:00 p.m. with Madness at the UPMC Events Center. Fans can be introduced to the Colonials of the men's and women's basketball program with a special event to kickoff the season.
