Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU volleyball team concluded a two-match swing through Wisconsin Saturday, dropping a 3-0 decision to Milwaukee at the Klotsche Center. The setback drops the Colonials to 7-8 (.467) overall during the 2022 season, including 0-3 in the Horizon League.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
A slow start doomed the Colonials in the opening set, as the Panthers scored the first seven points and also owned a 9-2 edge after a kill from Natalie Schmitz. RMU rallied, using an 11-4 surge to tie it, 13-13. Sophomore middle

Ally Christman answered with one of her own to tie it again, 14-14, but the Panthers slowly pulled away, opening up a 23-18 lead en route to a 25-23 win.
TWO, THREE
RMU never got on track in the second, again digging itself a hole, falling behind, 6-1, early. The lead for Milwaukee (4-10 / 3-0 #HLVB) eventually swelled to 15-8 as seven different Panthers registered a kill in the second set. Natalie Schmitz closed out a 25-15 win with a spike as Milwaukee produced an attack percentage of .290 during the set and .293 overall in the match. Alyssa Hudak paced the Colonials Saturday against the Panthers with nine kills and a .364 attack percentage while also notching three digs. Gross was a perfect 5-for-5 in her opportunities against Milwaukee and also registered half of RMU's six service aces, with Wallin recording the other three and handing out 16 assists, while Christman contributed six kills and 10 digs. Allena Carmody paced the Colonials on defense, notching 14 digs.
UP NEXT
RMU returns home to the UPMC Events Center for a three-match homestand with another quick turnaround. The Colonials open the stand Tuesday, Sept. 27, with a 6:00 p.m. match against Cleveland State.
