Moon Township, Pa. – Robert Morris head women's lacrosse coach Katrina Silva announced Monday that Bethany Snider has been named associate head coach for the Colonials.

"We're excited we hired Bethany," Silva said. "She's a young, strong female mind and we know she's going to bring a lot to our attacking unit. Bethany comes with a lot of head coaching experience at the Division III level, and that's going to transfer nicely into what we're doing. She has a great personality, she's really good with the kids and our young athletes really need to have a strong mentor. She's the perfect fit."

Snider, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., joins the Colonials after spending the last three seasons as the head coach at Westminster. In her three seasons with the Titans, she had four players earn All-Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) honors, led by midfielder Stephanie Cimini. Under the direction of Snider, Cimini earned All-PAC accolades for two consecutive seasons while posting a career high 32 goals and leading the conference in caused turnovers.

"It's an honor to be joining the coaching staff here at Robert Morris," Snider said. "As a Pittsburgh native, I've always held this program in high regard, and becoming a part of it has always been a dream of mine. I'd like to thank Coach Silva for giving me this opportunity to be a part of this program and all those that helped get me here. I look forward to working alongside coach Silva and coach Swartwout as we continue building a winning culture while developing well-rounded young women."

Prior to her stint at Westminster, Snider spent the 2019 academic year as the assistant women's lacrosse coach and recruiting coordinator for Division II Gannon University. Previously before Gannon, Snider spent time as the defensive coordinator at NCAA Division III Ohio Wesleyan. In her time with the Bishops, Snider helped coach Ohio Wesleyan to their best season since the 2010 campaign. During her tenure, she produced an All-NCAC goalie in Kelly Coffyn, who led the conference in saves (189) and saves percentage (.507), while accounting for two honorable mention selections.

"We expect her to have a strong voice right away, which we feel can make a huge impact," Silva said. "Lacrosse has a lot of moving parts and being a head coach, you have to do it all and she'll be expected to come in and fill some pretty big shoes. Bethany's recruiting background is strong, she has a great eye for talent and her being a head coach she understands what needs to be done and jumps right in."

Snider is a 2016 graduate of Mount Union University, where she earned two Bachelor of Art degrees in International Business and Japanese. She was a student-athlete for the women's lacrosse program with the Purple Raiders, where she was a member of the team that advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals. Prior to Mount Union, Snider began her career at Thiel College, where she helped the Tomcats win the 2013 PAC Women's Lacrosse Championship. Snider earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region honors as she was selected to the All-West Region Second Team as a freshman.

Snider also owns experience in club coaching as she serves as the 2024 Head Coach and Director of Member Management for the Pittsburgh Premier Lacrosse Club (PPLC).
