The All-Time Series (Green Bay) –
Green Bay and RMU meet for just the third time Saturday, with the two programs having split the 2021-22 season series in the first meetings in the all-time series. In the last meeting between the two programs, the Colonials earned a 652-60 win over the Phoenix at the UPMC Events Center (1/29/22). Guard Michael Green III paced RMU in the victory with 21 points while also notching four assists and a pair of steals. Guard Enoch Cheeks added a double-double in the win with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kamari McGee hit a jumper from the free-throw line to open the scoring in the second half and give the Phoenix a 29-26 advantage, but the Colonials used a 13-2 run to jump in front, 39-31.

Milwaukee Notes – The Panthers improved to 4-2 (.667) all-time against the Colonials, including 3-0 at UWM Panther Arena ... RMU finished a perfect 11-for-11 at the free-throw line, the most conversions without a miss at the chalk since the Colonials went 14-for-14 in the first round of the NIT against Kentucky (3/19/13) at the Charles L. Sewall Center, a 59-57 victory ... The school record for most makes without a miss at the stripe came @ West Virginia (12/22/98), when the Colonials finished a perfect 21-for-21 ... Milwaukee set season highs by an opponent in free throws (22), free throw attempts (27) and blocks (8).

Distributing – Senior guard Michael Green III is in the best stretch of his RMU career creating for his teammates. Over the last seven games, Green III has recorded an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.00, handing out 36 dimes against just nine turnovers. He enters Saturday's game @ Green Bay ranked second in the Horizon League in both assists (5.00 per game) and assist-to-turnover at 2.50. Green III is looking to become the sixth member of the Colonials in program history to average at least five dimes per game and notch an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.00 or better. Green's numbers have been bolstered by his first double-double with the Colonials in a 77-70 victory over IUPUI (1/9/23) thanks to 12 points and a career-high 11 assists.

A Streak In Perspective – All good streaks must come to an end. For junior guard Enoch Cheeks, who has blossomed into a key contributor and budding star for the Colonials in large pat due to his ability to be consistent, had his streak of double-figure scoring games dating back to last season snapped at 19 after finishing with seven points @ Milwaukee (1/19/23). To put that streak in perspective, just five Colonials in program history on record have reached double figures in 20 consecutive games, the last of which came during the 2019-20 season when former forward AJ Bramah (2019-21) turned the trick in 23 straight. During the streak for Cheeks, he produced averages of 17.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest while shooting 49.1 percent (121-for-246) from the field.

Finishing Strong – Kahliel Spear has been a consistent presence for the Colonials during their four-game road trip, as the fifth-year forward enters the finale Saturday @ Green Bay averaging 18.7 points and 10.0 rebounds the last three games while knocking down 54.8 percent (23-for-42) of his attempts from the field, including 4-for-8 from beyond the arc. Spear is also a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line during that span. Spear, who is averaging 17.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in six road games as part of #HLMBB action, ranks ninth overall in the league in scoring (14.7 ppg) and fifth in rebounding (8.0 rpg).

On My Way – While the exploits of Kahliel Spear are well documented at the rim on both ends of the court, Spear is also on his way to scoring 1,000 points in an RMU uniform. Spear, who is RMU's active leader for consecutive games played (70) and starts (57), has scored 941 points in 70 career contests for the Colonials since transferring from Bucknell, an average of 13.4 points per game. Spear needs to average 5.4 points over the final 11 games of the 2022-23 regular season to eclipse 1,000 career points at RMU. Meanwhile, Spear is also just one rebound shy of 500 career boards with the Colonials in his quest to become just the 14th student-athlete in program history to eclipse both 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
