Opening Tip
- The Robert Morris University women's basketball team comes back home to host NKU (1/26) and Wright State (1/28) in Horizon League action.
- Last time out, the Colonials dropped a 71-54 contest at Green Bay (1/22). Sophomore's Phoenix Gedeon and Rebecca Dwomoh put up 13 and 11 points. Alejandra Mastral posted a career high six assists against the Phoenix.
- In Milwaukee (1/20), the Colonials fell 72-60. Gedeon posted a double-double and tied her career high in points with 20.
- RMU snapped a five-game losing streak against IUPUI (1/14), capturing a 69-63 victory at home against the defending Horizon League champs. Gedeon led the way against the Jaguars with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Dwomoh recorded 17 points, knocking down five triples. Mackenzie Amalia and Danielle Vuletich each registered 11 points.
- In Division 1, RMU is ranked seventh in three-point percent defense (.247). Their turnover margin of 5.16, is good for 21st across the nation. The Colonials are placed first in both of these categories in the Horizon League.

The All-Time Series (Northern Kentucky) – Thursday night's game will be the ninth ever against NKU. In program history, the Colonials are 1-7 all-time against the Norse. Before RMU entered the Horizon League, both teams faced off three times upon previous entry into the same conference. Under head coach
Charlie Buscaglia, RMU earned their first win against the opposing program, 59-50 on the road. Earlier in this season, the Colonials fell on the road, 69-54 back on December 4, 2022. In that game, sophomore
Simone Morris scored 14 and
Phoenix Gedeon posted 12. Both players were efficient from the free throw line as Morris made a career high 10 free throws and Gedeon went 6-for-6. Also earning a career high was Mastral, grabbing six rebounds. As a team, RMU paced for 17 bench points and 17 points off turnovers.

Scouting the Norse – NKU is currently riding a three-game win streak, all against conference opponents. Overall, they're 12-7 and 6-4 in Horizon League action. The Norse are averaging 70.8 points per game which is second-best in the conference. Northern Kentucky boasts the leading scorer in the Horizon League in Lindsey Duvall. Duvall, a graduate student, is averaging 17.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Previously at Louisville, Duvall also leads the team in steals with 25 and has nine double-doubles on the year, at the top of the conference. Averaging 13.8 points a night, sophomore Kailee Davis leads the Norse in assists with 59. Davis is also the team's biggest threat from distance as she's shooting (.384) from behind the arc. Fifth-year forward Emmy Souder owns 15 blocks this year and is second on the team in rebounds, pacing 7.2 boards a game. Expected starters on Thursday night are Lindsey Duvall, Kailee Davis, Ivy Turner, Emmy Souder and Khamari Mitchell-Steen.

HOME ADVANTAGE
Coming off a home win against IUPUI (1/14), the Colonials are now 7-2 in front of their home crowd this season. In team history since 2019, playing in the new UPMC Events Center, the Colonials are 13-4 (.765) at home. RMU won their first six home games of the season against Saint Francis (11/7), George Mason (11/10), Waynesburg (11/12), Wheeling (11/14), Canisius (11/26) and St. Bonaventure (12/16).
