Can You Dig It?
- The RMU volleyball team returns to the UPMC Events Center on Friday, Oct. 13, when it welcomes Youngstown State for a Horizon League showdown.
- The Colonials concluded its two-game trip to Indianapolis on Saturday, dropping a pair of conference matches. RMU fell at IUPUI on Friday night before dropping a match at Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday.
- Against the Jags, freshman
Natalie Stepanovich tied for the team lead with six kills while collecting 10 digs and one ace.
Rosina Esposito also carded six successful swings and eight digs while collecting two service aces and one assist on the night.

Emma Brown totaled five kills and two blocks while
Ashleigh Wallin registered 12 assists and five digs.
Katie Cook ended the night with eight assists and
Allena Carmody tallied 13 digs and two assists against the Jags.
- At Purdue Fort Wayne, a pair of Colonials led the team in kills as
Emma Brown and
Hillarie Adams paced the squad with nine kills each. Brown posted a team-best .389 attacking percentage while only committing two errors on 18 attacks.
- Stepanovich tied for the team lead with 11 digs while registering eight successful swings and one assist. Wallin controlled the offense, carding 20 assists, four digs, and one ace while
Allena Carmody recorded 11 digs and two assists on Saturday.
- The Colonials hit the road on Tuesday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Northern Kentucky for a Horizon League match, with the opening serve scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

The All-Time Series (YSU) – Dating back to 2002, the Colonials and Penguins have squared off 18 times, with Youngstown State holding a 13-5 record in the series. The Penguins have won the last three meetings, collecting the season sweep in 2022. In the first meeting in Moon Township, RMU fell behind 2-0 in the match before securing sets three and four to send it to the fifth and final set.
Abby Ryan paced the Colonials with 20 kills and eight digs while
Kaitlyn Brown ended with a team-high 37 assists, nine kills, and 15 digs.
Allena Carmody posted a team-best 21 digs while tallying seven assists, one kills, and one ace.
Horizon Highlights – Through the first eight contests in the Horizon League, a group of Colonials continue to climb in the statistical category.
Allena Carmody currently ranks fourth in the conference with 144 total digs while sitting fifth with 5.14 digs per set.
Ashleigh Wallin is posted sixth in aces per set (0.36) while collecting 10 total service aces this season. Wallin also ranks sixth with 152 total assists, with 5.43 assists per set. On the offensive,
Natalie Stepanovich has totaled 105 points which ranks seventh best in the Horizon League. She sits eighth in total kills (91) while tabbed ninth in kills per set (3.25). She currently sits tied for 10
th in the league with nine service aces. Senior
Emma Brown paces the Colonials and ranks 10
th in the conference with a .293 attacking percentage while registering 46 successful swings in conference play.
Set Two … Secured – Through the first 19 matches this season, the second frame has been generous to the Colonials. RMU has won seven second sets this season, including three of the last five matches. In those seven sets, the Colonials are averaging over four-point victories, securing a 25-14 victory over Niagara at the Blue Hen Invitational as well as a 25-18 win over Green Bay last Saturday. RMU currently ranks fifth in the league with 12.56 kills per set while ranking sixth in points per set at 15.29.
