Can You Dig It?
- The RMU volleyball team begins a three-game road slate when it travels to Dayton, Ohio to battle Wright State on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at C.J. McLin Gymnasium in Horizon League play.
- The Colonials split a pair of conference matches over the weekend, securing a 3-1 victory over Oakland on Friday before dropping a 3-0 decision to Cleveland State on Saturday.
- In an all-around team performance, A trio of Colonials lit up the stat sheet against the Golden Grizzlies, posting double-digit kills. Stepanovich paved the way with her 11th kill/dig double-double of the season, carding 23 successful swings and 14 digs. She tied for the team-lead with five blocks while collecting a pair of service aces. Stepanovich totaled five or more kills in the first three sets alone while carding a season-high .362 hitting percentage.
- Brown led the squad and recorded a season-high .588 attacking percentage while collecting 11 kills on 17 attempts. She registered two or more successful swings in the first three frames while exploding for four scores in the third set. Brown also tallied three blocks and a dig during the win.
- Adams is the final Colonial in double-figures, posting 11 kills, two blocks, and a pair of digs against the Golden Grizzlies. She registered four successful swings in set two before sparking the Colonials run in set three with a trio of kills. This trio alone combined for 44 of the RMUs 61 kills on Friday night.
- Eric finished the evening with eight kills and tied for the team-lead with five blocks, with three of them coming in the final set alone. Esposito recorded a season-high 13 digs while collecting eight kills in the win. Wallin controlled the offense with 28 assists, six digs, and a pair of aces while Cook posted a season-best 22 assists and three total blocks.
Allena Carmody controlled the defensive, posting her second 30 dig performance of the season while collecting an assist.
- Against the Vikings, Stepanovich fell shy of another double-double, carding 13 digs and eight kills while totaling two blocks and an ace. Adams finished the evening with seven kills and two digs while Brown collected five successful swings, three blocks, and two digs.
- Powers tallied five kills and Esposito finished with four and five digs.
Ashleigh Wallin recorded her fourth double-double of the year, posting 16 assists and 12 digs while
Kaitlyn Brown registered 12 assists and two digs. Graduate student
Allena Carmody collected a team-high 15 digs on Saturday.

The All-Time Series (Wright State) – It'll be the ninth all-time meeting when the Colonials and Raiders square off on Tuesday evening. Wright State holds an 8-0 mark over RMU while securing a 3-1 victory in Moon Township earlier this season. In the second set, the Colonials used 16 kills and a late run to even the match, 1-1. RMU posted a 6-3 advantage to begin the set, thanks in part to a pair of kills from freshman
Azra Eric and a point from Stepanovich. Later in the set, the Colonials continued to apply pressure as they scored six of the next eight points to hold a 14-8 lead.
Five different RMU players registered a successful swing, led by Esposito, Stepanovich, Eric, senior
Emma Brown, and sophomore
Macy McNamara. Wright State responded with a massive 10-4 surge to tie the score at 18-18. After a point by the Raiders, the Colonials carded a 7-3 run to secure the set. Stepanovich recorded a kill before Esposito and Eric capped off the set with back-to-back successful swings, 25-22.
RMU was paced by a pair of freshmen, as
Azra Eric registered her best performance of the season. She carded 11 kills and an impressive .769 attacking percentage with just one error. Eric tied for the team lead with four blocks and three digs.
Natalie Stepanovich posted her fourth double-double of the season with 12 digs and 10 kills while recording two assists and a service ace.
Rosina Esposito finished with eight kills and tied her season-high with four blocks while
Hillarie Adams and
Emma Brown both posted seven kills each.
Ashleigh Wallin paced the offense with her first double-double of the season with 23 assists, 10 digs and two service aces.
Katie Cook registered 10 assists and three digs while
Allena Carmody recorded a team-high 20 digs on Tuesday.
Horizon Stat That - Continuing conference play, a group of Colonials continue to climb the stat sheet in Horizon League action. Stepanovich currently sits third in total points (181.5) while sitting fourth in points per set (4.13). Her 157 kills rank third in the standing while her 3.57 kills per set, ranks fourth. Brown sits sixth in the conference with a .324 attacking percentage while collecting 86 successful swings. Controlling the offense is
Ashleigh Wallin, who is tabbed sixth with 251 assists and sitting seventh with 5.70 assists per set. She also sits tied for third in the league with 18 aces while Stepanovich has totaled 14. Carmody continues to lead the Colonials and also is tallied third in total digs (224) while ranking fifth in digs per set (5.09).
