Opening Kick-Off
- The Robert Morris men's soccer team begins a three-game road trip on Saturday, traveling to Dayton, Ohio to take on Wright State for a Horizon League contest, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
- Last time out, the Colonials welcomed Purdue Fort Wayne to the North Athletic Complex, where they were undefeated in conference play until RMU handed them a 3-0 defeat last Saturday.
- The Colonials didn't take long to get to work in front of their home crowd. Two and a half minutes into the game, the first stat recorded of the game was a goal for RMU.
- Off a cross in front of the box, senior Chase Gilley flicked a header into space. Sophomore Anass Hadran slipped past the defenders and hammered in a goal, quickly getting on the board.
- In the 11th minute, RMU struck again. Beating a player down the wing, Chase Gilley found John Paul Mbuthia outside the box. Showing off his ability to hit from distance, Mbuthia took a shot and launched a shot into the top left corner, beating the keeper short side.
- In the 16th minute, cutting past a defender, Hadran located Norris running in from the left side. Using a player in front of him to block the goalie's vision, he curled in a low shot into the bottom right corner.
- The Colonials controlled the stat sheet as they totaled 18 shots to the Mastodons 12 while peppering the net with 11 shots and only allowing four.

The All-Time Series (Wright State) – It'll be the ninth all-time meeting when the Colonials and Raiders battle on the pitch Saturday afternoon. It's been an even series as each team has won four games while Wright State has won three of the last four meetings, including last season in Moon Township, 3-0. RMU secured a 2-1 victory in 2021 while capturing a 1-0 win in the very first meeting in 2007.
Scouting the Raiders - At the end of the 2022 season, Wright State finished the campaign with a 4-7-6 overall record and were 4-1-4 in conference contests. The Raiders season came to an end in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament, suffering a 3-0 defeat to IUPUI a season ago. Wright State picked up five Horizon League honors in 2022, led by Pierson Davis. Davis led the Raiders with a First Team selection after starting and playing in all 16 regular season contests with a team-best 1,440 minutes. Davis' play helped lead Raider defense to a 1.40 goals against average, the fourth-best mark in the Horizon League. Reece Allbaugh, Sebastian Jimenez, Joe Kouadio and Brock Pickett were all named to the second team.
In 2023, Reece Allbaugh and Henry Hutchinson are the main point producers for Wright State, each tallying five points this season. Allbaugh has started in all 10 contests this season while carding a pair of scores and an assist. Hutchinson has appeared in five games while making a pair of starts and producing two scores and one assist. Felix Ezekwuka and Cole Werthmuller have registered four points each as Ezekwuka paces the Raiders with two assists and Werthmuller is tied for the team lead with two scores.
Climbing the Rankings – Following their dominant performance against Purdue Fort Wayne last Saturday, the Colonials were ranked 8
th in the latest rankings in the North Region of the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. As a team, RMU paces the league in goals, carding 19 on the season while averaging 1.900 per game. They also lead the conference in points, registering 54 this season, with 19 scores and 16 assists. The Colonials sit second in the Horizon League in shots per game (6.10), assists (16), and goals allowed per game (1.20).
