Youngstown, Ohio – The RMU volleyball team concluded its regular season on Friday night, dropping a 3-0 decision at Youngstown State at the Beeghly Center in Horizon League play.
The Colonials finish the year with a 7-22 overall mark behind a 4-14 record in conference play. Meanwhile, the Penguins finish at 9-20 this season with a 4-14 mark in league action.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
In the opening stanza, Youngstown State came out swinging, hitting at a .385 clip while collecting 15 kills. The two squads traded the first 10 points, thanks in part to three kills from three different Colonials. The Penguins would rattle off a 7-2 spurt to claim a 12-7 lead before extending its lead, 20-12 later in the frame. Graduate student

Katie Cook registered kills. The Penguins would halt the run, securing a 25-19 set one win.
STANZA TWO/THREE
In the second frame, the two squads traded the opening eight scores before the Colonials mounted a 5-3 stint to claim a 9-7 advantage. Brown paced the charge with two successful swings while Chirstman and junior
Tatum Otolski found the floor successfully. Youngstown State would respond by scoring seven of the next right points to claim a 14-10 lead and forcing an RMU timeout. Out of the break, the Penguins continued to stay consistent, carding an 11-5 run to claim a 2-0 match advantage. In the final set, YSU used a .333 attacking percentage, 14 kills, and a stagnant Colonial attack to claim the match, 25-15. Brown, Adams, Christman, and Otolski all collected a pair of kills in the final frame for RMU.
THE SEND OFF
In their final match of the regular season, four Colonials concluded their careers in the blue and white.
Emma Brown finishes her career with over 442 kills, 204 total blocks, and 555.0 points. She produced 188 kills this season while leading the team with a .283 attacking percentage. Brown totaled 64 total blocks on the year while tallying 11 matches with 3+ blocks.
Allena Carmody closes her five-year career with 1549 digs and 3.30 digs per set. She totaled over 450 digs this season while tallying 4.28 digs per set, the best in her career. Carmody registered over 230 career assists while posting 25 matches with double-figure digs this season.
In just one season with RMU,
Rosina Esposito recorded 223 kills, 160 digs, 39 total blocks, and 251.5 points. For her career, she registered over 1440 kills, 1035 digs, and 193 blocks. Esposito posted 11 matches with double-digit kills and three matches with kill/dig double-doubles.
Abby Ryan concludes her four-year stint with 779 kills, 546 digs, 47 total blocks, and 42 service aces. Due to injury, Ryan was sidelined but in the eight matches she played, Ryan totaled 122 kills while posting 4.07 kills per set. She carded 130.5 points and registered 4.35 points per set while tallying 77 digs and posting three kill/dig double-doubles.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Adams led the way with eight kills, one dig, and one block while Christman, Brown, and Esposito each posted five successful swings. Christman registered seven digs and three aces while Esposito carded a team-high 12 digs. Brown finished with one block while
Ashleigh Wallin totaled 11 assists and eight digs. Cook tallied seven helpers and four digs as Carmody concluded with nine digs, five, assists, and a pair of aces.
