- The RMU softball team continues a six-game homestand at the North Athletic Complex Tuesday by hosting Pitt in a 3:00 p.m. non-conference tilt.

- The Colonials opened their
homestand with a doubleheader sweep of Kent State (4/2), earning a 4-1 win in the opener before a 5-2 triumph in game two. Junior
Charlotte Grover reached base safely in four of her six trips to the plate during the two victories, finishing 2-for-4 with a run, triple, RBI and a pair of walks.

- In a 4-1 win over the Golden Flashes to open the doubleheader, sophomore
Anna Resnik finished 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI. Resnik leads the Horizon League this season in times hit by pitch (5).

Jane Garver and
Madison DeVault picked up victories from the circle for RMU in the sweep of Kent State, while
Dana Vatakis posted saves in both ends of the doubleheader, her second and third of the 2023 season. Vatakis sits atop the #HLSB leaderboard in saves.

- The Colonials split a doubleheader @ Green Bay (3/24) in Green Bay, Wisc., posting a 6-0 win in the opener at King Park before falling in the second game, 5-4. The third game of the series scheduled for Saturday, March 25, was canceled due to inclement weather.

Charlotte Grover finished 5-for-7 at the plate against the Phoenix with two runs and five RBI. In a 6-0 triumph Grover finished 3-for-3 with a run and four RBI, breaking the game open in the top of the seventh with a double with the bases loaded that cleared the bases.

- RMU returns five starters from a 2022 squad that finished with an overall record of 31-21 (.596) last season, including a mark of 16-9 (.640) in the Horizon League. The Colonials advanced to the championship game of the 2022 #HLSB Tournament in posting its first 30-win season since 2013.

- The Colonials are led by head coach
Jexx Varner, who is in his fifth season at the helm of the program. He has posted a record of 90-102 (.469) but since joining the Horizon League RMU has notched an overall record of 68-54 (.557), including a mark of 38-25 (.603) in league play.

- In a poll of Horizon League head coaches, the
Colonials were picked to finish second in the league in 2023. Oakland was tabbed as the favorite and received eight first-place votes in accruing 77 points, while RMU earned a first-place tally and compiled 68 points.

- RMU returns to Horizon League action after hosting the Panthers Tuesday, welcoming Northern Kentucky for a three-game series that begins Friday, April 7.

The All-Time Series (Pitt) – The Colonials and Panthers square off for the 42nd time Tuesday, with Pitt owning a 24-16-1 (.597) advantage in the all-time series. The two teams met once last season, with the Panthers posting a 7-2 win over the Colonials at Vartabedian Field. Last season's meeting marked the first between the two programs since 2014, and Tuesday's game is the first at the North Athletic Complex since 2013, when RMU swept a doubleheader from Pitt.

Anna Resnik has been a consistent presence near the top of the lineup for RMU, as she has reached base safely in each of her last 13 games as the Colonials continue a six-game homestand at the North Athletic Complex Tuesday. During that stretch Resnik owns a .361/.489/.500 slash line while owning 11 runs, three doubles, a triple and 10 RBI. She's also 3-for-3 in stolen bases during that stretch.

… Duo – While Resnik has set the table near the top of the lineup, junior
Charlotte Grover is cashing in for the Colonials. Over the last 13 games that Resnik has safely reached base, Grover is hitting .306 (11-for-36) and has driven in 11 runs, tops during that span. Overall this season Grover ranks in the top 10 in five different categories in the Horizon League, including fourth in walks (14), tied for sixth in RBI (16), eight in on-base percentage (.398) and 10th in OPS (.823).

Alaina Koutsogiani (3B) as his starting infield in each of RMU's 26 games during the 2023 season. That pushes the streak for consecutive starts for the quartet to 32 games dating back to last season. Grover is RMU's active leader for consecutive starting assignments, as she has started each of RMU's last 88 games at shortstop since April of 2021.
