The All-Time Series (SFU) – The Colonials will look to win their ninth game all-time against the Red Flash on Sunday. RMU took down Saint Francis last year, winning 2-1. Sophomores Malia Kearns and Renae Mohrbacher both posted an assist in the victory and senior Haleigh Finale came away with the game-winning goal in the 61st minute. RMU recorded 16 shots with seven on goal in that game, compared to SFU's nine shots with only three on frame. RMU spent a lot of time in the offensive zone, as they earned 15 corner kicks in that match. Finale owns three points against the Red Flash, as she also picked up an assist when these two programs met back in 2021.

Scouting the Red Flash – In the 2022 campaign, SFU finished 7-10-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play. They made it to the NEC playoffs, losing in the first round, 2-1 to Fairleigh Dickinson. So far, in 2023, the Red Flash have yet to pick up a victory. They're currently 0-3, with a 3-1 loss to Horizon League member YSU, a 9-0 loss to West Virginia and they also recently dropped a 1-0 game to Niagara.

Saint Francis does bring back some key starters from the previous season. Junior Tomke Dziesiaty was the team's leading goal scorer last year, posting six goals and two assists. Junior Lauren Pyle was the squad leader in helpers with six assists. She also added two goals. Sophomore Raine Korpics as a freshman scored three goals in 2022. And, in goal, Sarah McConnon returns for her senior year. Last year she played in 18 games, earning seven wins and making 82 total saves.

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS
After the Colonials beat Akron this past Thursday, it was the second time in program history that RMU women's soccer began the year with three consecutive wins. This was last done in 2013 when they beat Northern Kentucky, Niagara and Bucknell. Chris Shaw and his team achieved a new record as the team for the first time ever hasn't allowed a goal in their first three matches. If the Colonials beat SFU tomorrow, it'll be a program record to win the first four games of the season.
