Opening Kick-Off
- Concluding the women's soccer game on Saturday, the men's side will play the second game of a home double-header. They'll host Purdue Fort Wayne at 3:00 p.m.
- Last time out, the Colonials welcomed St. Bonaventure to the NAC, in a non-conference game, ending the tough battle with a 1-1 tie.
- RMU collected more chances on the day, peppering 17 shots compared to St. Bonaventure's 10. The Colonials also hammered seven shots on goal, while only allowing three on net.
- Against the Bonnies, midfielder Gabe Norris scored one goal for RMU. The captain put in his team leading third goal of the season.
- Freshman Mats Bramer earned his first start in the contest. The German earned an assist on Norris's goal, posting his first career collegiate point.
- Also, freshman Kyler Miller was given his first career start as well.
- Starting in goal for seven games, freshman Kieran Gorgenyi has made 19 saves while earning three wins.

The All-Time Series (Purdue Fort Wayne) – RMU will be facing PFW for the fourth time in program history this Saturday. Across three games, the Colonials are 1-1-1 against the Mastodons. Both sides never played one another until the Colonials joined the Horizon League in 2020. That year, RMU won their first game in the all-time series, 1-0. The following year on the road, the Mastodons won the game 3-1. Most recently, this past season, the game ended in a scoreless draw at the North Athletic Complex.

Scouting the Mastodons – At the end of the 2022 season, Purdue Fort Wayne finished the campaign with a 2-10-3 overall record and were 1-6-2 in conference contests. Taking a gander at last year's statistics, attacking players Luke Benford and Seth Mahlmeister led the team in points, both ending the season with four goals and one assist each. Collecting the most minutes, Logan Lee in the midfield started in all 15 games, racking up 1,267 minutes of game time. And, in goal, Danny Salazar earned 10 starts while the other third of matches featured Adam Hunt between the posts. Both goalies finished with 27 saves each.

So far in the current campaign, the Mastodons have turned things around, owning a 5-2-1 overall record, and are right now undefeated in conference, 3-0. Against Horizon League opponents, they've beaten Milwaukee, 3-0, Green Bay, 2-1 and Wright State, 3-1. After his eighth game of the season, Seth Mahlmeister has produced the same amount of goals and assists as he did last year. In the midfield, Soshi Fujioka has been the squad's main playmaker, creating five goals off his passes. He's also played the most minutes on the team (675). About halfway through the year, Purdue Fort Wayne has played three different goalies. Eating up the most minutes in their first eight games has been Max Collingwood. Starting in four games, he's made 19 stops and ended two games with a win. Others to receive game time in goal have been Nic Diana and Danny Salazar.

CHIPPING IN
In head coach Jonathan Potter's first season, his style of play is rewarding several players with scoring opportunities. Possessing a talented team, Potter and his staff are seeing production out of numerous players. Nine games into the season, 17 Colonials have chipped in. Junior midfielder

Anass Hadran has produced two goals and two assists, tying Norris in points for the team lead with six. Defenders
Darren Gray and
Tim Koczulap both produced two assists this season and the Australian
Kai McLoughlin struck a ball in the back of the net twice so far in 2023. On the year, 12 different players have scored a goal so far and 10 individual players have recorded an assist.
