RMU Women's Hockey Set to Host Princeton for Alumni Weekend

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team will host Princeton this weekend for a two-game series at Clearview Arena as part of Alumni Weekend. The action kicks off with the series opener on Friday, October 18 at 7:00 PM, followed by the finale on Saturday, October 19 at 3:00 PM. Both games will be streamed live on FloHockey, featuring commentary from Jon Fisher, Bob Kennedy, and Katie Gaus.
 
RECENT FORM
RMU (3-3-0, 0-0-0 #AHA) looks to rebound after dropping both games in its recent series against No. 3 Clarkson, falling 4-0 and 3-0. Defenseman Thalia D'Elia currently leads the team with five points (2g, 3a), while Veronica Bac tops the team in goals with three. Alternate captain Jersey Phillips holds the team's best plus/minus rating at +3, and freshman defenseman Shayne Desjardins leads RMU with 18 blocks.
 
NATIONAL STANDOUT
Sophomore goaltender Maggie Hatch continues to shine on a national level, currently ranking 12th in the NCAA with a .946 save percentage. Her 139 saves rank her sixth among NCAA netminders this season.
 
HISTORY WITH PRINCETON
Since 2012, RMU and Princeton have faced off four times, with the Colonials still seeking their first victory over the Tigers. In last season's matchup, sophomore Alaina Giampietro tallied an assist for RMU.
 
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton (0-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) will begin its regular season this weekend against RMU, having only played an exhibition match against LIU thus far. Last season, Princeton posted a 14-12-6 record and went 6-10-6 in ECAC play. The Tigers advanced to the ECAC Tournament, defeating Dartmouth in the first round before being eliminated by Clarkson in a best-of-three series. Senior forward Sarah Fillier led the team in points last season (30-13—43), while Issy Wunder dished out a team-high 27 assists.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
After their Alumni Weekend series, RMU will hit the road for a two-game set against Saint Anselm in Manchester, N.H. The series begins Friday, October 25 at 4:00 PM, with the finale scheduled for Saturday, October 26 at 12:00 PM.
