RMU Women's Soccer to Host Wright State on Senior Day

RMU Game Notes (10/26)

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team will face Wright State in a pivotal Horizon League match on Saturday, October 26, at 1:00 PM at the North Athletic Complex. The game also serves as Senior Day for the Colonials.
 
RMU LATELY
RMU (4-5-6, 3-2-3 #HLWSOC) returns home after a trip to Wisconsin, where the Colonials suffered a 3-0 defeat at Milwaukee but secured a 1-1 draw against Green Bay. In the tie, Taylor Day scored her second goal of the season, assisted by Paloma Swankler, while goalkeeper Brenna Murray made eight saves.
 
DOWN THE STRETCH
With just two games left in conference play, RMU currently holds fourth place in the Horizon League standings with 12 points. The Colonials can secure a playoff spot with a win or tie against Wright State, coupled with a Purdue Fort Wayne loss or draw.
 
THE FINALE
Graduate forward Haleigh Finale is poised to make history, as her 82nd career game on Saturday will set a new program record for career appearances. Finale, a South Park, Pa. native, has 19 goals, 16 assists, and 54 career points, ranking in the top four in RMU's all-time records.
 
SENIOR DAY
This weekend, RMU will honor nine graduating seniors: Brenna Murray, Morgan Brustman, Carson Bogan, Haleigh Finale, Kassidy Fischer, Sophia Belcastro, Alyssa Bell, Morgan Guelas, and Emily Rocco.
 
ALL-TIME VS. WRIGHT STATE
The Colonials and Raiders have met seven times since 1995, with RMU holding a 3-4-0 record in the series. Last season, RMU swept Wright State, winning both regular season and postseason matchups. In the regular season, RMU earned a 4-2 victory, thanks to a program-record four goals by Malia Kearns. In the Horizon League playoffs, RMU advanced with another 4-2 win, highlighted by Shauna Gamble's goal and two assists, along with scores from Haleigh Finale and Paloma Swankler.
 
SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State (5-8-2, 3-3-2 #HLWSOC) is coming off a 2-0 win over Purdue Fort Wayne and a 0-0 draw against IU Indy last week. The Raiders currently sit in sixth place, the final playoff position. Freshman forward Olivia Stroud leads the team with five goals and two assists, while senior midfielder Olivia Mace has a team-high three assists. Junior defender Kaylee Pham has logged the most minutes with 1,247. In goal, graduate goalkeeper Kiera Sarka has made 34 saves across 12 appearances, earning three wins and one shutout.

The Colonials will conclude the regular season with another home match against Youngstown State on Wednesday, October 30, with kickoff set for 3:00 PM.
