Folgueiras Records Double-Double in RMU’s 67-53 Victory Over Lindenwood

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa.  – Alvaro Folgueiras' double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds led RMU to a 67-53 victory over Lindenwood in the second day of the Urban-Bennett Invitational MTE Hosted by P3R at the UPMC Events Center. With the win, the Colonials improve to 3-2 overall while the Lions fall to 1-3.
 
1st HALF
The 1st half remained a two-possession contest until DJ Smith's layup and 3-pointer put RMU ahead 20-12 at 8:12. However Lindenwood responded with an 11-0 run to take a 23-20 lead at the 3:19 mark. RMU would quickly tie and regain the lead less than a minute later and take a 29-28 halftime advantage.
 
2nd HALF
Amarion Dickerson's jumper at the midway point of the 2nd half gave RMU its first double-figure lead at 48-38. Their lead would get as high as 16 point after Josh Omojafo's 3-pointer made the score 67-51 at 1:18.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Folgueiras recorded his second double-double of the season (Chatham 19/11)
  • Omojafo scored a season-high 17 points – he has scored in double-figures in four of RMU's five games
  • Dickerson had 10 points and three blocks
  • Ryan Prather Jr. scored 11 points
  • Smith had a game-high seven assists with only one turnover in 35 minutes
  • RMU outrebounded Lindenwood 41-32 and had 16 second chance points to LU's 0
  • The Colonials led for 35:07
 
UP NEXT
The final day of the Urban-Bennett Invitational MTE Hosted by P3R is Sunday, November 17. Stonehill and Lindenwood will start things off at 1 p.m. before RMU and New Orleans close the event at 4 p.m.
