ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The RMU men's soccer team saw its season come to an end in the NCAA Tournament First Round, falling to Michigan, 2-0, at U-M Soccer Stadium. The Wolverines scored in both halves to advance to the Second Round, while the Colonials close their campaign with a 9-7-3 overall record.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- RMU opened with intent as John Paul Mbuthia's left-footed shot forced a save from Michigan goalkeeper Isaiah Goldson.
- Michigan struck first in the ninth minute, with Matthew Fisher scoring from distance.
- Lucas Barsoee nearly equalized in the 17th minute, but his shot off a cross was stopped by Goldson.
- Late in the half, the Wolverines were issued a yellow card, their first of the match.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The game grew increasingly physical, with RMU receiving six yellow cards and Michigan one.
- RMU's best chance to level came in the 77th minute when Victor Koah's long-range effort was saved.
- Michigan doubled their lead in the 80th minute on a strike by Duilio Herrera, securing their place in the Second Round.

This marked RMU's fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their first since 2005. The Colonials' historic season included capturing their first Horizon League title under second-year head coach
