MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa.  – Amarion Dickerson recorded career-highs of 19 points, 13 rebounds and four assists as RMU (6-2) extended its winning streak to six games after its 72-64 victory over Canisius (0-8) on Wednesday evening.
 
1^st HALF
The 1^st half was a two-possession contest the entire way, with four ties and nine lead changes. Down four with 46 seconds left, Ryan Prather Jr. hit a 3-pointer followed by a Josh Omojafo dunk that put RMU ahead 31-30. But Canisius' Anthony Benard would close out the scoring with a 3-ball to send the game into halftime with the Golden Griffins leading 33-31.
 
2^nd HALF
RMU opened the 2^nd half with a 13-2 run – with baskets from five different players - to go ahead 49-39 capped by a dunk from Ismael Plet at 14:10. Canisius would whittle the score down to a one-possession contest with under a minute when a Dylan Godfrey free throw made the score with 37 seconds remaining. However, the Colonials would make seven free throws in the final 21 seconds to close out the content.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The last six-game winning streak for RMU was January 25 – February 13, 2020
• Omojafo's 3-pointer at 15:51 of the 2^nd half was his 1,000 career point
• DJ Smith and Alvaro Folgueiras also recorded double-figure scoring with 14 and 10 points respectively
• This was the Colonials' first win this season when trailing at halftime
• The starting five of Smith, Omojafo, Folgueiras, Dickerson and Prather Jr. are 5-0

 
UP NEXT
RMU hits the road to face Ohio on Saturday, November 30. The Colonials return home to host open Horizon League play against Youngstown State on Wednesday, December 4 at the UPMC Events Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
