Box Score 2 SPARTANSBURG, S.C. – On day two of the Terrier Invite, the Colonials fell to Eastern Kentucky, 7-2 and then lost to Wofford, 3-2. RMU is now 1-3 overall to begin the 2023-24 campaign.
GAME 1 VS. EASTERN KENTUCKY
- At the top of the second inning, the Colonials immediately got to work.

Faith Miller singled and advanced to second base after
Catalina Saxen's groundout.
Alaina Koutsogiani then blasted an RBI-single to bring Miller to home plate.
- Over the next two innings, Eastern Kentucky paced for five runs to take a 5-1 lead.
- In the top of the fourth, Koutsogiani would get involved in the scoring once again, this time reaching home off an RBI-double by outfielder
Jess Matheny.
- Next inning, the Colonels picked up two more scores and would go on to win the game, 7-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Catcher
Meadow Sacadura reached base on all three of her at-bats. She produced two hits and one walk. This is her second two-hit game of the campaign. Junior
Alaina Koutsogiani also registered two hits and her first RBI of the season.
Madison DeVault started the game in the circle, going 2.2 innings and throwing four strikeouts. Freshman
Kailani Tatro finished up the game, making her first appearance in her collegiate career. She went 3.1 innings, only giving up one earned run.
GAME 2 VS. WOFFORD
- Through the first two innings, neither side produced a run.
- In the third, Wofford scored an unearned run to take a 1-0 advantage.
- Heading into the fourth inning, the Colonials offense stepped up to the plate, gathering two runs.
- In the sequence,
Meadow Sacadura reached on a throwing error. Up next in the batting order,
Avery Winchell singled to third base which advanced Sacadura to second.
- Continuing the rally,
Catalina Saxen singled up the middle of the infield and then advanced to second off an error.
Bailee Bertani pinch-running for Sacadura then ran to home plate for RMU's first run of the game.
- With Winchell at third base, sophomore
Abby Quickel stepped in to pinch-run.
Courtney Poulich then hit a single, bringing in Quickel for her first run of the campaign and pushing RMU ahead, 2-1.
- Wofford responded the following inning, as they brought in two runs to pull back the lead, 3-2.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Three different pitchers appeared in the circle for the fourth game of the Terrier Invite.
Kailani Tatro earned her first start, going 3.1 innings and only allowing one earned run.
Jane Garver stepped in after, pitching 1.1 innings and throwing three strikeouts. Junior
Jaimee Hardy pitched the last 1.1 innings and posted one strikeout.
Courtney Poulich earned her first stolen base of the season.
UP NEXT
Due to weather, remaining games to be played in the Terrier Invite have been canceled. Next up, the Colonials will travel south again, this time to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the I-75 Challenge. The tournament is scheduled for February 23-25.
