MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Dallas Tulik's shorthanded tally and game-winning goal propelled RMU to a 4-3 victory and second conference sweep of the season at Clearview Arena. RMU is now 9-18-3 overall and 6-12-2 in AHA action. The Lakers are now 7-17-3 overall and 5-11-3 in conference play.
1st PERIOD
- Three minutes into the game, Mercyhurst scored a power play goal on their first man-up opportunity to take an early lead.
- A minute later, freshman
Dominic Schimizzi scored his second goal of the season to tie up the game.
- With under two minutes remaining in the first period, the Lakers took the lead back, heading into the locker room up 2-1.
2nd PERIOD
- Entering the middle frame, the Colonials tied the game up on the penalty kill. In the defensive zone,
Gavin Gulash caused a turnover at the blue line, finding
Dallas Tulik on a breakaway. Heading to goal all alone, Tulik made one move and found the back of the net.
- Halfway through the period, Mercyhurst cashed in one more time, making it a 3-2 score.
- Across the second period, the Colonials led in shots, 15-6.
3rd PERIOD
- To begin the last period, RMU's penalty kill unit was crucial, as they killed off two penalties, including a 5on3 situation.
- Returning to even strength, defenseman
Luke Johnson fed
Tanner Klimpke down the left wing. Entering the zone with speed, Klimpke blew by a defenseman and cashed in on his backhand.
- Moments later, Tulik scored his second goal of the game to give RMU their first and only lead needed of the night to secure a 4-3 victory.
- Every skater stepped up in the final 10 minutes, as RMU blocked seven shots with three of them happening on one shift.

Rylee St. Onge led the team in shots on goal with eight. Defensively,
Luke van Why owned a team-high three blocks. In the +/- department, Tulik along with
Michael Craig each finished as a +2. Freshman
Cameron Garvey added an assist in the second game, reaching four points in the series (3g, 1a). After a two-point effort last night,
Tanner Klimpke scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season at vital time, tying the game up for the Colonials. He's the first RMU player this season to reach 20 points (10-10--20). Defenseman
Luke Johnson dished out two assists on the night, including the primary assist on Tulik's second score. He owns 11 assists on the season now. RMU in their last 14 are at a .500 win-percentage (7-7-0) and are .500 since the beginning of 2024 (5-5-0).
TWO-WAY TULIK
All season long, alternate captain
Dallas Tulik has been a two-player for the Colonials. He finished the night with a team-high +2 and 11 faceoff wins. From Kalamazoo, Mich., this was Tulik's first two-goal game of the season and third multipoint effort in the 2023-24 campaign. Playing key minutes on the penalty kill, his first goal of the game was RMU's second shorthanded finish of the season. Also, taking the most draws on the team, Tulik leads the roster in faceoff wins with (254) and is averaging a 53.2% win-percentage in the faceoff circle. This season, Tulik owns five goals and 13 assists totaling 18 points. In his career, he's produced 20 goals, 33 assists and 53 points.
3 IN A ROW
Goaltender
Francis Boisvert has now won three straight games in net for the Colonials. During this stretch, the netminder owns a 1.67 GAA and .960 save percentage along with one shutout. From Blainville, Quebec, he's posted 31 or more saves in all three of those contests.
UP NEXT
