MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Senior forward
Mya Neugent scored two late goals to force overtime at Clearview Arena. The game ended in a 4-4 tie. RMU is now 11-17-1 overall and 8-8-1 in CHA action. Penn State is now 18-11-2 overall and 13-3-1 in conference play.
1st PERIOD
- During the first 20 minutes of play, shot totals were about even. PSU held the edge, 11-10.
- The visitors struck first as Tessa Janecke scored an unassisted effort.
2nd PERIOD
- Entering the middle frame, Penn State gathered a 2-0 lead by scoring a shorthanded tally.
- The Colonials quickly evaporated PSU's lead as they received a power play opportunity a few minutes later. After some passes around the zone, the puck found the stick of
Morgan Giannone in front of goal. She roofed in the biscuit to give RMU their first score of the night.
- Under 40 seconds later, freshman
Janelle Evans found the back of the net to bring the score even.
- Before the period ended, the Nittany Lions gathered two quick goals to gain back their two-goal lead. They scored 43 seconds apart, heading into the second intermission up 4-2.
3rd PERIOD
- In the third period,
Mya Neugent shined for the Colonials, scoring two vital goals. About halfway through the period, she sniped the puck into the top left corner to bring RMU within one.
- With a little over two minutes left, RMU took a penalty. Head coach

Maggie Hatch from goal to add another skater.
- Playing 5v5 with an empty net, Neugent found a way again to score. She received a pass in the slot from
Thalia D'Elia and ripped a shot through traffic, finding the back of the net to tie the game and force overtime.
3on3 OVERTIME
- Across an entertaining five-minute overtime period, each side produced quality chances.

Shailynn Snow and
Morgan Giannone almost connected on a 2on1 opportunity in the final seconds but the score ended in a 4-4 tie.

Janelle Evans and
Morgan Giannone both cashed in against the Nittany Lions. Evans owns three goals, seven assists and 10 points in her last 11 games.
MULTIPOINT EFFORTS
Four players produced two-point games:
Mya Neugent (2g),
Thalia D'Elia (2a),
Gillian Thompson (2a) and
Courtney Hall (2a). This is Neugent's first career two-goal game. She holds six goals and six assists in the 2023-24 campaign. Handing out two helpers tonight, Hall has paced for three multipoint games. She's heated up in her last few series, owning one goal and four assists in her last five appearances. In two games vs. Penn State this season, Neugent (3g) and Hall (3a) own three assists against the opposing program. Freshman defenseman
Thalia D'Elia also dished out two assists, registering her second multipoint effort of the year. She now has three goals and seven assists. And, graduate defenseman
Gillian Thompson passed out two assists on the night, including a secondary helper on Neugent's game-tying score. Over her last three games, Thompson has dished out four assists.
