MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Charlotte Grover's walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning leads RMU to their first home and conference win of the 2024 season, beating Green Bay, 7-6. RMU is now 4-13 overall and 1-2 in Horizon League play. Green Bay now owns a 6-16 overall record and are 2-1 in conference action.
GAME 3
- The visitors started the game off collecting a 4-0 lead.
- In the top of the first inning, all nine of Green Bay's batters earned an at-bat.
- In the bottom of the first, the Colonials punched back to gather a run. Catcher Meadow Sacadura blasted a double to deep center field, followed up by Avery Winchell doing the same to send Sacadura home, making it a 4-1 score.
- Junior pitcher Jamiee Hardy stepped into the circle in the second inning.
- The Phoenix scored two runs in the top of the second to take a 6-1 lead, but Hardy would shut them down the rest of the game.
- Heading into the bottom of the fourth, right fielder Logan Black doubled to left field. Pinch running, Abby Quickel advanced to third and Alaina Koutsogiani reached home plate, making it a 6-2 score.
- As the game went on, RMU's offense continued to succeed while Hardy and the defense kept making plays.
- The bottom of the fifth inning was a pivotal moment for the Colonials. Senior Catalina Saxen entered the batter's box with bases loaded. She cranked a hit to the wall, earning a 3-RBI double. Alaina Koutsogiani, Kaylyn Hopf and Jess Matheny all scored on the play.
- Continuing the rally, Charlotte Grover singled to second base, beating out the throw to first. Catalina Saxen then scored to tie up the game, 6-6.
- Through the sixth and seventh inning, Hardy didn't allow another hit, giving her team a chance to walk it off in the bottom of the seventh.
- Starting up the game-winning run, Catalina Saxen walked. Senior Julia Ehrman then pinch ran for Saxen. Two batter's later, Logan Black singled to deep right field, pushing Ehrman to the opposite corner of the diamond.
- Up to the plate, Charlotte Grover swung at the first pitch she saw, hitting a walk-off RBI single to bring home Ehrman and win the game, 7-6.

RMU outhit Green Bay, 10-7. Eight different Colonials registered a hit, including two by
Logan Black and
Charlotte Grover. Black and
Avery Winchell each recorded an RBI. Across the series, Winchell posted three runs batted in and a triple. For
Catalina Saxen, she tied her career best, producing 3 RBI's in a game. She previously hit a 3-RBI game vs. Albany in 2022.
Charlotte Grover earned the two most RBI's on the day, providing the game-tying and game-winning run. Her strong defensive play at shortstop was also on display today as she recorded four assists. In the circle, Jamiee Hardy pitched six innings and paced for three strikeouts.
